Getting a Bag with NO Purchase History. MY Hermes Story. This is how I managed to get my FIRST Quota Bag from Hermes without spending a fortune. I then followed this up with many more quota bags in a very short space of time. I give you indepth details on how I was able to Score so many Hermes quota bags direct from the Store. You Don't have to play 'The Hermes Game'
There is so much Misinformation online about how it is impossible to score any quota bags from Hermes without spending a fortune before a bag may be offered. That you will not ever get your dream combination and that if you turn down a bag you will never get another offer. I am here to tell you it is possible to be offered the bags you want without having to play the Hermes Game or to spend a fortune.
Take it from someone who has first hand experience.

I think that you where confident and that helped. Many young girl are insecure and buy the Hermes to boost their confidence. You dont need the bag to boost your person. I think thats is why you got it. We all put money on things that get us happy, it could be jewelry, bags, cars or clothes. I would personally not buy such a expensive bag because i am a person that forgets thing all the time, mobils. bags, etc

Deb, I think this is phenomenal advice-just being a polite and respectful person goes a long way. I think asking the SA to please explain the process is pure gold. I did so (in the US) and my SA was very direct with me. She told me I’d need to spend first, which I truly didn’t mind as I adore the brand. ❤

That is NOT how it works in the US at all. I am a collector as well with an amazing SA... but if we want bags here... we spend. PERIOD. Most times the first quota bag is the easiest to get but after that... hard. Very competitive here. xoxoxox

I think it is quite different in America and Australia from what I hear. Different again in Paris. In the uk my experience is that it used to be a lot easier but harder now, especially with the wish system. Tfs and congratulations on such a great collection. Obvs I love the etain kelly 😉

Yes I agree. It has def slowed down since my last bag but up until that point I was getting regular offers. I think it’s slowed down for me because my SA left rather than because of the system. Yes! Twinning!!!

I have a similar history but it was from pre Covid. I would get two bags a year with virtually no other spend. I even got a special order. All from a local boutique and one in Paris when I just walked in with no history and bought two belts and didn’t have time for appt system since I was leaving the next day. I’ve just assumed from the current stories that this journey thing is all related to post Covid demand. So I’d like to know your timing on purchases.

Sadly as Jo has touched on above they fairly easy years 3 - 4 years ago are pretty much in the past . Up to 2021 it was fairly easy to get quota bags. I got offered my first gold within a few months 2019/2020 then 2 other bags within 6 months. One of my friends walked into Selfridges London and walked out with a black B30 Togo , no purchase history in 2021 however she has never had another offer since even with some spending. Not one offer. I would say early 2022 things have changed quite a bit across most Hermes stores. I’m not sure if you know my Hermes history, not sure if we have discussed it but summarised , I only changed to London because both my Glasgow store closed and then my wonderful Manchester SA was promoted out of sales but I was offered 3 bags in Glasgow with barely any spent and bought 1 and was offered 2 in Manchester and bought 1 and rejected 1. My first visit to London store I hadn’t even decided if I was changing stores but my SA had to pass on her clients and I was gutted as she was amazing. I had a great in depth conversation with the SA of a friend in London, discussed my whole history with Hermes and they for sure spent 15-20 mins reading my whole account. Every single detail. Thankfully I didn’t need anyone to get me “in the door” per se with quite an extensive purchase history but it certainly was nice as you know and I was so grateful to be with a friend who is familiar with this store when you are potentially striking up a new relationship with someone. They SAs are not daft though for sure. Sadly during the pandemic years the stores where bag rich and customer poor. It’s a whole new ball game and then you have to add all the Chanel jumpers of the last 12 months. Demand is insane now compared to availability. Hence we now have the wish system more streamline. What you describe is exactly how it was, email and you could do an extensive list. There isn’t many people getting bags with no spending today. There is exceptions but within most countries it’s rare (except Paris ) I guess it could be a mix of clever business but for sure a measure of loyalty which I think it’s fairly fair. My 3 SAs I’ve has have all pretty smart. Kind but very smart for sure. ❤. It will be interesting to see how the next couple years pan out , the big increase by Hermes circa 10% hasn’t stop the demand so far. Xx

@@Wildunfiltered that’s the good thing about the new system I guess is you don’t have to chase. If you place a wish it sits there. So many who have been collecting Hermes bags a lot longer than us have all been “caught out” or surprised how ever you went to look at it. I know many women who have been getting 2 bags a year easy all from 2010-2020 easily with no effort , no regular store visits and openly say it, they since have had very little in the last 2 years. Some have taken it on the chin and others are appalled at how it’s going for them BUT it’s the nature of the beast I guess. You are very lucky like a lot of us that you have managed to build up a lovely collection so there is no urgency on the next bag. Nothing wrong with a bit of LV. I bought the croisette recently. It’s been sort of on my list forever. Not a new bag of course but a great classic xx x

Thanks for sharing. You’re right, the “process” is different depending on the country. I would say that your experience is the exception and not the norm though. However, I don’t think you have “zero” purchase history. You had 2 purchases. So although not extensive, it’s still a purchase history.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Great tips! I think being polite and humble goes a long way in developing a good relationship with an SA. It really depends on the SA too, I think. I remember asking for a Picotin in a certain combination a year ago but my SA at the time did not put anything in my profile. I only found out after my SA left and I met my new SA, I asked about the bag and told me they didn't see anything on my file! but they ended up offering me the Picotin in the specs I wanted about 5-6 months later and my current SA is great. I shop at Hermes sometimes. I love the brand and buy only the items I love. I started buying with no intention of asking for a quota bag although I do love the Kelly so maybe one day I may inquire. I have subscriber who has the same type of journey as you, I think it is just the attitude of the brand towards mature ladies, is different in comparison to aspired and inspired by influencers, including myself, I am just that newer gen for them that wants to own the bag😀 and the brand milks us for that, which is bad as well. Though I dont play these games too. I got 2 bags relatively easy, but I am sick to hear from my SA that those bags are sold only to deliver pleasure to their biggest clients and that she stopped even to say “hi” to me when I by occasion was shopping with another SA, I had limited time to buy a gift and since then she doesnt even say “hi”, this behavior is unacceptable in client servicing area, and brand should control this, instead of that they promoted the system of mystery of relationship with SA and gave them “unlimited power”, which is not true, but they behave like they have unlimited power. I even think the game is the same, it is just based on different psychological aspects of different generations. Like if elegant lady with husband comes in, they most likely have enough money to shop there regularly and they will at least brand hopes so, and they will maintain the reputation of the brand, the young one, may not be so representative to the brand, but ready to play this game in order to deserve the bag. So first will return because she is thankful second will return because she has not deserved yet.

Buying Hermes jewelry of any kind is certainly puts you on a radar of a sales associate, as it is a high “impact” category, so to speak. And then buying a belt and looking at other smaller items also is taken into account. Just saying…

It probably depends where you live, but I’m in the US and do not live near a boutique. I called some of the closest boutiques to me and left a voicemail explaining where I live and that I wanted to connect with an SA. The SA who called me back told me that my initial purchase would need to be in the boutique, then she could help me remotely. And that is exactly what has happened! The same is true at Chanel-you have to make a purchase in person before they can work with you remotely!❤

I agree it’s very difficult. I don’t live near any stores either but I am a few hours on a train rather than a flight. I suggest a visit whilst maybe on hols and just be honest and ask how it can work. If you can find a nice SA you never know! I was told if they found a bag I had to collect same day as they couldn’t hold it. However they then agreed to hold it for a week until I could get there. Another time they did post it to me so they can break the ‘rules’ if they want to!

What an awesome experience you’ve had. I saw a few American KZbinr’s that went to Paris and left with a Birkin or Kelly first time walking in, one with no purchase history. One of the stories is his husband told the SA he wanted to get his husband a Birthday gift and their trip was part of it and viola they got a Birkin! The next KZbinr went with her daughter and offered them both a bag, the SA knew they were there on vacation and even let them film in the store. The Mom and daughter had a small purchase history but only things they wanted, they weren’t working up a tier. So yes miracles do happen and somehow I think it has to do with the approach, and of course not all countries offer things the same way. @Steve Jan and @Ericas Girly World were the KZbinr’s for reference.

Wow! What an amazing story. Your bags are so beautiful. Just goes to show that being friendly, polite and, most importantly, being yourself pays dividends. Do you know what the system is for non-quota bags? I would love an Evelyne 29 (black clemence with palladium HW to be precise!). I'd like to buy from the boutique rather than preloved if I can. Do you need to make a leather appointment for non-quota bags or can you just wander in and ask??

My advice is to go into store and ask whether they have any Evelynes in stock available. They prob won’t but you can then chat to an SA and ask what the process is to be able to order one etc. The quota bags do not go on a wishlist system but they are quite hard to get and you might have to wait until they can find one. We love Manchester and I've walked past the King Street store many times but never dared enter its hallowed portals!! I've been in the Cadogan Place store before to take my preloved garden party to the spa (different SA on drop off and pick up) and they were very nice in there but New Bond Street is closer to St Pancras so I probably need to pick a branch and stick with it

@@drr7027 yes I would say to choose a store you are most comfortable in. King Street Manchester store has now closed and Hermes is now only in selfridges. There was a time there was the King street store and a small concession in selfridges but it is now a larger concession in selfridges only x don’t be worried about going in. Remember the SA’s are human. Also my SA said to me that it was refreshing to chat to someone who was not demanding or aggressive etc. They get so many people who think they can demand a bag because they have money etc

I went in, i felt lost, it was my first time to go but I know this building so well, i actually watched this building go up. I took courage asked around, someone showed me the elevator that took me to the 4th floor. Nobody greeted me, but i asked for an SA, someone came after 10mins, asked me about what I wanted, i told her exactly what I wanted , nothing else, no purchase history like zero!
