@@hrtsmimii We are simply saying its unsafe because the hamster could die of stress, we are not necessarily concerned about the cat. The hamster is a prey animal, and the cat is a predator. The cat is completely fine... but the hamster? They don't mix, I'm afraid. Please keep your hamster safe and out of stress!

As other have said, the cage is too small and buying from pet stores supports rodent mills. Anyway you will want either a 40gal breeder or if you want something cheap, try a diy bin cage. You just need a 50gal clear bin and you only need to diy the lid. Either way, 600 square meters of floor space is the minimum for dwarf's. Hamsters also need at least 6 inches of bedding to burrow but more is always better. Niteangel has some amazing enclosures as well but they are pricy, they also have great and safe products for them. Victoria Raechel's channel has great advice for hamster care and I definitely recommend it to help your little one have the best life possible. I will say however, because you got a pet store hamster, it will likely have more health issues. Even with a healthy hamster, health issues can always happen so vet visits can be needed. One last thing, keep the cat away. Hamsters are prey animals and can easily die from stress, cats also have bacteria in the claws and teeth, any small bite or scratch could be deadly.

my heart beat just thumped so hard the whole video. At first i was surprised by the good wheel size but does types of wheels can cause bummble foot. also, the picking up hamster part when you just brought him home gave me anxiety. Finally, me heart almsot burst out when the cat came into scene.

Please don’t let your cat near the hamster! Whilst your cat may be very friendly,this may spook the hamster.A cat is a predator species,whatever they were trained to do,doesn’t eliminate the fact that the nature of a cat is to hunt down rodents! Hi! I’m a hamster mom myself and I watch Victoria Raechel cuz she has helped me with everything I know. Hamsters will need at least 6 inches and that cage unfortunately isn’t big enough. Hamsters also need big wheels that will help them not bend their backs. The bigger the better for wheels and cages. Also find bedding that’s safe. Please do your research and enjoy this little dude! Hi your cage needs to be at least 450sq inch’s not counting vertically up only flat they hate climbing and wire hurts their feet and cause death so don’t use it I recommend at least a 20gal fish tank but 40gal is the best type to get

That’s the worst cage ever! Those hamsters will die from depression they can get very hurt with the cage bars as a ground and need at least 6 inches of bedding!!!!!!! I swear if I see another video about abusing these things! Parents shouldn’t be this irresponsible with kids. They did 0 research before they got these animals 😭😭

I would recommend a much larger cage and no bars. Wheel needs to be 10 inches at least to prevent back problems. They need more bedding ideally 7 inches at least for burrowing like they would in the wild. Please do research x

You should definitely listen to the other comments. I also wanted to add that you should give your hamster about a week before you try to hold them. You want your hamster to climb into your hand and don’t grab them. Very cute hamster btw!

Yes, I’m late. But I just wanna say somethings you need for your hamster. First, they need a large cage. Cages such as CritterTail, TinyTales, or brands like that. DO NOT buy! Those small cages cause your hamster bar biting and monkey barring. Sometimes pet stores have good stuff, but that’s pretty rare. I would suggest buying one online, building one, or an aquarium. Hamsters need at least 6 inches of bedding, so they can burrow. They also need a big wheel, so if you ever see your hamster running on their wheel and their back bends, that means you will need a bigger wheel for your hammy. You do not have to have a sand bath, but I would still add one. By the way, something to add is sprays. Also, 2 dangerous things is scented bedding and dust baths. And-you can do this, but I sure wouldn’t. It’s putting your hamster’s cage (with the hamster in it, obviously) in your room. One popular thing that people put in their hamsters cages is a “Multi-Chamber Hide” If you don’t know what it is, it’s basically a maze. Lots of hamster like to sleep in it. Anyway, I would suggest a water bowl. If you’ve got a water bottle for your hamster, again, I’d suggest a water bowl. I don’t know if this happened to many hamster owners, but sometimes when you refill the water bottle, I wouldn’t say ‘leak’, but the water drips out. That’s all I gotta say, but also, I would recommend Victoria Raechel. Bye, hope your hammy is happy!👋😇

This is cute saldy, getting all the hamsters supllies at once and touching the hamster without waiting and going to a store for a cage and letting your cat meet him/her is not proper care! I know u did not know, but it's never too late to change their care by reaserching and maybe getting an aquarium or making a cage would be great❤ i also would reccomend to watch victoria rachel on youtube! She has great care tips and will tell u all u need. And if u need a cheaper option, u can search up a tut for making a bin cage, and that's only about like 50 dollars! (Also, i can't tell, but i think you have scented bedding in there, and that's not good, and please add more bedding and upgrade the wheel!)

What hamster did you get? I got a Russian dwarf hamster (the hamster in my profile picture) Make sure to feed them often and change out their bedding every week (FYI) don’t tip them on their back Edit: if it bites you, it’s normal.
