Same, I got a helix piercing on my right ear, and I normally sleep on that side. And it´s been so difficult trying to not turn in the night. :x

I just got my conch done on my left ear a few days ago. I was going to wait and do it for my 30th coming up in March. But I didn't want to wait haha. Ive been wanting this piercing for a really long time. Mine did not hurt at all. My helix actually hurt more. I love it! I picked a green opal flat back.

Everybody I watched said their conch didn’t hurt that bad but mine hurt like a bitch, my gf just hugged me and accidentally touched it and it made me cry instantly 😂😂😂

I got mine done Thursday n the pain was 3/10. Today it’s been 4 days and the throbbing is insane lol . 6/10 😂. It is looking healthy , just some swelling behind the ear . I clean it twice a day . Can’t wait for it to heal thennnnn get more 😂

@@Vee_207 it hurts but it's tolerable. Not something that should stop you from getting it done :) I actually got the other ear as well. The healing goes fine, it doesn't hurt unless I touch and even then it's not that bad. I switch my first conch to a hoop and I have a little bump on it so my piercer told me to use hydrogen peroxide and it helps :D

i just turned sixteen a little bit ago and now its legal for me to get ear and nose piercings without parental permission. i’ve just done my nose so i’m waiting for that to be healed but i can’t wait to go do everything that i planned out for my ears! conch is a big one for me i think it looks so lovely

Update: Got it yesterday now, and I absolutely love it! It didn’t hurt that much. Honestly it was more painful when she was putting the jewelry in! I’m getting mine done in about an hour and honestly I’m more nervous about going then getting the actual piercing. I’m weird that way.

i'm trying to convince my parents to let me get the conch - I'm fourteen. i have all three lobes on both ears but do you think the conch is too much of a leap? parents are concerned about the aftercare and pain.

Omg i’m literally in the same situation!! I just keep trying to tell my parents that it’ll work out and if it hurts too bad that i’ll just take it out so it can heal. That probably doesn’t answer your question but i just think it’s funny we’re in the same situation!!

In my experience the pain was not that bad, and you just need to clean it with a gentle or mild soap twice a day. DO NOT sleep on the side with the piercing, and avoid wearing headphones on that side while it’s healing.

@@bellas9963 went really well! it was my very first piercing ever and the conch is known to be the most painful cartilage piercing and it didn’t hurt one bit you may have a headache after for a while but after that it goes away. It was a 1/10 for me and i have a low pain tolerance :)

So if you wanted a conch piercing you cant just get a post and then take it out when it’s healed and just put a ring in instead? Or do you need the piercing to be redone before putting a ring in? I’ve never gotten a piercing but I’m looking at getting a conch someday and I know nothing about any of this 😂

Exactly! You can start with a post, and then once it's healed put a ring in it. No need to re-pierce!

You've had it longer than me now so might as well answer your own question. I got it recently and it's been all good but a friend of mine kinda struggles with bumps since she got in a steel labret and now I'm worried that will happen to me too 😫💜 How is your experience?

Dea Theth I would get a stud. Don’t get hoops until it is healed. However, keloids are normal and happen often so even if you take really good care of your piercings there is a chance you could still get one. Right now I am cleaning my piercing with a Sea salt solution (a tiny bit of sea salt, and warm water) then after, I mix A few drops of tea tree oil with warm water (you want tea tree oil REALLY diluted or it will burn your piercing) but I have been doing that for a week now and my keloid has went down. But I’m hoping after I get this labret in, the keloid will go away forever lol

sea salt is an outdated way of cleaning piercings and not really recommended anymore for two reasons: it's best to keep the piercing as dry as possibile while it's healing, so soaking is a no no. Also, most people don't go buy a pre-made solution but eyeball the ratios of water to salt, and that can also cause problems when salt soaking. Current standard of care is just saline sprays, not sleeping on them (donough pillows are great for ear piercings!) and especially LITHA (leaving it the hell alone).
