Make sure you treat Max as the leader of the pack... feed him first, give him treats first. It will keep him from getting mixed messages from you. He will be happier.

Actually both dogs should only view "dad" as the pack leader. Max is very balanced and as long as each get the SAME treatment... he'll have a great balanced pack! (Advice from a registered service dog trainer; canine behaviorist)

So, my prediction is that Max will teach Mingo all the ins and outs of Project Management (jobsite naps, critter chasing, watering lawns, as well as inspections) so that, one day he (Max) can retire to the cabin.
