I'll be in Thailand this time next week. Planned ahead and got a 60 day visa through USA Consulate. Very happy to hear I'll have less trouble.

I just got a drivers license with a 30 day tourist visa, had to go via a third party thai drivers school (did the course via them) to get it however all the paper work was accepted by the DLT in 2024 and issued me the license

I used BSR (Bankok Scooter Rental) they held my hand through the entire process. 2200 ThB and 3 weeks. Done & Dusted. Google Them...a short walk from the Skytrain, lovely lady will stand there with you Shoulder-to-Shoulder

good information, but if you get an international drivers licence in your own country you are allowed to drive on that in Thailand for a year before any need to do the Thai drivers licence

Do you have to have more than 30 days left on visa or extension? I will extend my visa but plan but can’t book the test until 12th December but my extension will end on 5th January so less than a month left on it from the test date. I came on a 60 tourist visa and extending it one month.

Hello Brother. I'm heading to Thailand in January..I got a international driver's license at AAA. So I can rent a motorcycle. I have the bike license in USA. I want to extend my visa past 30 days. According to everything I have seam hear I can. I just need to have my girlfriend family file out T 30 form and then I can go to immigration and apply to stay extra 30 days. I don't understand why you guys waste your time. All of this is avoidable if you simply hired an agency. You pay some money and all doors magically open for you.

@@gregory5749 it depends. If you have no foreign driver license, 22k baht. If you already have a foreign license, it is less. Since I am fairly well off, I don't care how much money it is.

nopp last month i got a driving licence for motorbike in thailand. i hade only a 30 day stamp no extentions. I only went to a driving school. Then to immigration and got my recedential certifekation (the hotel i hade for a week works) whent to the doktor and got that. Next day back to the driving school to start lassons. saw a move of trafik safty did the driving part and then study for the tery test. Next day morre move then the test. And your done. Get a time to get it printed at land transport office and you are legal driver. Be nice and ask polite and you get it

What about a moped license? I keep getting fined; I was told I need to bring an international license prior to arrival to avoid taking the actual driving test on the street

You can get an international drivers license, not a Thai license, if you surrender your valid licence from your home country.

Part 1 was basically the same information everybody had already. A bit disappointing to see that he did follow through with a part 2 as promised. That's the one we wanted. We all want to know if it's possible (for real) to get that certificate, right?!

Hmmmm, The fine for not having a D/L is 500 ThB Even the Thais balk at getting the license

I have a license and still get fined 500 baht any time thai police stop me
