i've been getting back into skating the last 2 years, i'm 41. i was never without a board, just life gets in the way and rust forms faster than you'd think. basically started over from scratch and focusing more on basics/fundamentals and strength/mobility over trick progression this time around so i hopefully don't get hurt and can skate forever.

I’m in the same boat. 40 years old and after a bad injury in my 30s and not skating consistently for a few years, I’m back at it. Once you let go of that mindset and just start skating for the fun of it and to learn all the tricks you’ve always wanted to learn it’s so much more of a good time. As long as you take care of your body with the right eating most of the time and hitting the calisthenics 2/3 times a week you’ll be straight. It’s great to see you getting back out there my g. Be good to yourself and be patient with yourself.

The biggest hurdle to get over in my opinion, when you're getting back into it after a long time of not doing it, is to not compare yourself to the younger you, when it takes you 20-30 tries to land tricks you could do every try back in the day, that shit sucks at first
