Hey chat, just wanted to share my degenerate experience yesterday: Walked into the casino with 60 bucks, played some slots with my buddy, and got a 750 dollar bonus on huff n more puff. Well, I tried making it an even 800 on blackjack, and got hit with an awesome 8 game losing streak, causing me to lose it all. Moral of the story, don't be greedy, walk out with the win.

I'm commenting on your question of the day. My Dad owns a sanitation company, started it in 1981 with 1 garbage truck, which had a flat tire. Today it's a very successful company. I remember my Dad saying back in late 80's, someday there will be a truck that picks up the cans by itself. I so wish my Dad would have gone with his idea and ran with it.

My boss at CompuServe back in 1980 had an idea he shared with us at a luncheon we called "Networking in the 80's". He said imagine a jukebox, where you didn't have a set number of records in the machine, and you could put in whatever songs you wanted, and it would pull them down from the Internet and play them for you. Too bad he didn't get a patent for it. He also, with a friend of his, pretty much invented GPS for yachts, but failed to get it patented before someone else did. We were sailing to Bimini one night and testing it out. We had set course from Ft. Lauderdale and left at about 3 AM. We were getting drunk up on deck, and my boss' girlfriend went down below because she was a little seasick. She came up about 5:00 AM and it's pitch black, you can't see land anywhere, and we're all passed out on deck. She freaked out, screaming "Who's driving the boat?" She had no idea we were on autopilot. And that GPS steered us directly into that tiny dot of an island that is Bimini!

My grandfather had a couple good ones for the investing question back in the day (he owned cast industries in Costa Mesa, mainly making gun molds). A guy came around looking fkr investers in the first tech that lead to DNA testing, it was dirt cheap and skyrocketed later on. A local one he looked at a gigantic mansion in Los Coyotes country club and in the 70s it was $225,000, my grandma made him pass because it was 10 bedrooms, house is now worth 10 million.

My daughter and i go to laughlin and gamble once a week. We lose more than win, but when we win its so exciting. Even losing we enjoy our time together.
