Served nearly 3 whole years in the Army & I’m finally getting out. Before I came to the military I was in College at Arizona State University & I was studying Business(Pre-Law) to pursue a degree in Law. After joining the army & figuring it out for what it is I chose not to re-enlist because of various reasons. It takes a lot out of you when you’re the one in these boots every single day sacrificing your time for this country. It’s easy for people to say “stay in 20 years & retire young” but when you’re the one in the middle of the desert for an unknown reason for an unknown amount of time....Then you get back to me & let me know how you feel about retirement.

I got chaptered out from the 75th Ranger Regiment. It was hard, but eight years later I have a wife, beautiful daughter, and I'm graduating nursing school in July. This shit doesn't have to define us.

AIT was a little bit better than basic bro. I was at Fort Benning and our living conditions didn’t change from basic really. A 50 man bay with platoon sergeants in charge. Military life is simple and easy do as told be were you are to be at the time your told. 10mins prior. I joined and I went to Germany I thought I would hate it. I ended up loving it met so many good friends good memories. I even fought to stay in Germany for another tour but due to withdr of troop count there it wasn't happening so I walked away and regret it. I also joined no sign on and my re-up would been for free to as they were not offering signing bounse again.

Yeah it's a hard and long process. But if you have all medical documents in order they can't deny you the big thing is making sure you are getting everything looked at that is a issue. Request physical therapy, request meds etc. If the military caused something you gotta do the 🦵 leg work to make them have to pay you for it. Unless you got a purple heart/POW or a case where there is no denial due to accidents that happen during field trainings and you get medevac out. The VA is not so difficult when it comes to giving you percentages as long as you have some medical documents. But for the army to give you a MEB/retirement you need clear evidence that it is making you unfit for duty of your rank/mos/position. There are more regulations in place now that are supposed to help soldiers get the right benefits they are entitled to before getting ets/chapter/retired out. Look up regs if you feel you are getting done wrong odds are you can find something in there that can help you have a standing ground even if it is 1 statement that relates to you it can be enough

Thanks man. You’re a good guy. I can tell because you sent such a long paragraph. Thanks for your service to defend the American people. You were very brave to join no matter how you were treated because you volunteered. I was active duty army at Germany from 2016 to 2018. I took months of terminal leave from December 2018 to February 2019 finally leaving. I’ve got 7 months left in the inactive reserves. It’s been a crazy 7 year ride. Sometimes I miss Germany. America may be the strongest country but Germany is more fun. It’s almost like heaven. I’ve been working the factory life making pretty good money since I got out. I’ve got my own place. Sometimes I think about going back in but sometimes then again I think he’ll no. Idk but thanks for your feedback.

Business (pre-law) .. that's def not a degree lmao. what the hell degree plan were you studying at Arizona State University... If you got into that University why the hell did you leave?? You could've finished and commissioned in the Army instead. In your description it says you chose not to re-enlist but at the beginning of your video you state that you are getting "chaptered" out of the Army. lol Idk man sounds like you went through it with the military but I'm sure you probably realize the Civilian world is hard out here. Im a veteran myself and recently separated about a year ago and the only thing keeping me afloat is the fact that I got a good discharge with the GI bill that gives me 2 grand a month in housing allowance to at least pay off bills etc.. Hopefully you grew and learned from what happened man. Good luck to you.
@TheOnlyDMP
@TheOnlyDMP 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely grew and learned after getting out, the most important lesson in my journey is that you have to use your rights to protect yourself from people overusing their power of authority. Also stay in school and try to gain a higher level of education in the civilian world to bring in a new tax bracket of income. I agree with your input on the GI Bill & the monthly housing allowance. I’ve been using that for the past year and a half and it’s been keeping my finances in a decent place for the transition.
