Another great video, Jo. One thing you might consider is getting a camo skin or some self adhesive camo tape to cover up the biggest parts of your big white lens. The tape, at least is quite inexpensive and it also protects your lens from getting marked up over time. With the non-focusing situation you experienced, I had that happen a couple of times with my A7R3 and once with my A1. I found that, I think just turning the camera off and on again, or maybe it was reseating the lens cleared it up. It has happened so infrequently that I haven't worried about it again. You got some really nice rabbit photos there towards the end.

The lens issue hasn't happened since so I think all is good there 🤞👍 might look into getting something for the lens

Think your gonna need a camo wrap for your lens and a realtree cap 😂 the white of the lens doesn't really blend in. Another nice video Jo, enjoying the series.

A lot of people have mentioned that, I was waiting until I got the 200-600 and get the camo wraps for that, but may see if I can get some for this lens in the meantime

Lovely to see the bunnies. Can I make the observation that you’ve used camo to disguise yourself and your bag, but you have a very visible white lens which shows up so much.
@JoHeard4 ай бұрын
Yes I am planning on getting some camo for the 200-600 as and when I get that 👍

Camouflage is as much about hiding what you are than making you ‘invisible’. Rabbits won’t necessarily associate something white as a threat. I’ve photographed them for years and they tend to be quite tolerant as long as you keep a low profile, keep still and have a lot of patience to wait.

Lovely images Jo, eye level / low down is effective

Eye level is where it's at, for me it makes the photo more engaging 👍

Lovely images, I have used a net , I 😂drapped it from tree/bush in front of me which allowed freedom to move behind it for shit high or low.

I think that's a better way of using it than wrapping it around yourself, I'll take the stick legs with me next time 👍

Keep at it Jo.. as your learning now, it's not so easy getting good wildlife shots..But the effort will be worth it.. cheers Den

A large number of species have limited or no colour vision, but your white lens hood, is clearly obviouse to most species, having said that I photograph multiple species all over the world and in my experience, animals react more to sudden sharp movements and shapes, rather than colours.

I think I am going to have to get something for the lens, I was going to wait until I have the 200-600 but not sure when that will be

As usual love your video Jo but do agree with Sue Holmes below about the lens needing some sort of camouflage. You migt also be interested in this camouflage chair kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJ3Wm42VhKt3qtk

Yeah I have seen those camo chairs, may be a good option and when I get the 200-600 I will be getting the neoprene camo sets you can get for them 👍
