I got the same issue as him where passes sometimes seem so dumb and recently I think I figured out why. I haven't played for a couple FIFA's (last one I did was 15) and then you could aim passes to the *space* where the pass should go to, whereas you now need to aim to the *player* you want to pass to, although that sometimes isn't the same thing. Correct me if I'm wrong
