A faster way to do the h perm is to simply learn the h perm skip case which is when on your last sledge/hedge before solving the top layer, check the sides on the left and right and if both of them have the center correct then do a y2, do what you were going to do before the y2, do another y2, and do the opposite of what you just did (if you just did sledge, do a hedge, and vice versa). I use Sarah's intermediate and average around low 5s or high 4s and I have found this to be the most efficient way to do an h perm, and you don't need to learn any new algs, just a new combination.

3:35 I very much disagree color neutrality is what separates Lucas ether and feliks People have this weird idea that color neutrality has not that much effect, and I would suggest learning to be color neutral as early as possible. It pretty much gives you 6 different scrambles to choose from, and lets you get good scrambles (which is the effect for skewb) it's just "more important" on skewb cause it's easier than 3x3

Yeah, but people always gloss over the fact that it also has a drawback: you have to waste some of your inspection deciding on a cross color, whereas those few seconds you used could have been spent planning out the cross and first f2l pairs.

wow thanks! yay I know the skewb now. For people who may be confused, the Z-Perm could be written as R (SH SH SH) R' . That is, a single setup move, 3 SH and then undo the setup move. I first thought you meant bring the center to the top = like in the beginner method.

Hm, I always had done some of the cases differently which would make me have to guess on what case is next but this video helped me realize that no guessing is required (ex: for the 2 Rotated cases where the center isn't on top, if one of the corners is touching the center with the same color, you're guaranteed to do the same motion (sledge or hedge) for the next case; if none of the corners touch the center you'll just do the opposite). Thank you for the clarification! :D

I know. It's just I just switched to this method and found the alternative alg. When I saw your alg, I practiced the alternative alg because it is easier to memorize. I will soon switch to your alg because the execution is much faster. But for people just switching to the intermediate method, I find that doing SH y2 HS y2 SH is easier to memorize at the start, but they can switch to your faster one.

However, I found a « sort-of-figertrick » before: I take the 2 corners to turn and I use the table to keep the skewb stable. Is there a shorter way to do SH y SH y2 SH, and SH y' SH y2 SH? Because this is the way to do 4 corners rotated when the center is touching two / no corners.

I think I tried to generate algorithms for those cases at one point, but there either wasn't anything shorter, or the algorithms were so difficult to execute that they took significantly longer.

You say to do the fingertrick to not have to regrip, but don't you have to regrip after doing the sledgehammer ? You start with pointer/middle finger on top and thumb in front and end up with pointer/middle finger in front and thumb on top (which is btw a hella uncomfortable grip to end on)
