This is the bestest footage I have seen ever...mindblowing!!! ... the minus rapids looked so out of this world, and watching you have a epic time here is just blissful. Would watch this again and again. Beatiful river...love the power of free flowing wild rivers!!

Most paddlers, myself included, would feel intimidated by paddling the Zambezi with a two bladed paddle. Doing that with someone else's broken paddle is impressive and very generous, to say the least! Also really enjoyed that underwater shot towards the sun fading out.

I looked at those when we hiked down to the falls and I wondered if anyone ever ran those. When you say “sick” that's how my stomach feels watching you jump into that shit. Nice work. Plus the back move off the rooster tail at 5. Pretty sweet.

Ahah the left "air stroke" towards the end got me. Still sick you're nailing those airscrews with a semi-paddle. Aren't you disappointed with the sound quality on this gopro though ? It's like having water in my ears.
@danejacksonkayak5 жыл бұрын
With whitewater the GoPro has issues because when one of the mics fill up with water it switches to the other mic which also has water. So thats why its a weird warbling audio. Selecting one of the two options on the camera helps .

A super high volume river like that is generally gonna be deep especially if it goes into a big pool like here. But there are also signs you can look for if there might be some rocks, like boils and features. But I knew it was deep here.

1:20 A waterfall even Dane wouldn't run. It's not the fall that ruins your day, but the sudden stop at the end. 3:30 Zambezi Gainer! Glad you didn't go off the bridge. Have you ever done the Cheat take-out bridge? (probably as an 8 y.o.?) 4:00 Nobody flies a kayak better. 5:30 Story of doing sections of the Zambezi as a 12 y.o.? Genetic superiority. 💪 7:00 What whitewater paddler holds their nose 🤏👃 when jumping into the river? 🙄 Who are your paddling buddies? Do you ever post credits for your cast of characters? (Provided they want it?)

How do you get your image quality so high? I use a GoPro on recording on 1080p, export it as such but all my videos pale in resolution compared to this one. This video is crystal clear.
@danejacksonkayak4 жыл бұрын
It depends on what year you have. But any of the last few editions of the GoPro either has 2.7 or 4k footage even in superwide perspective. As long as its not like the Hero 2 you should have more options than 1080

They make amazing, strong, light weight, break apart, stow-able kayak paddles. I keep one permanently in by boat, even on simple day runs. Although if you enjoy running class 5 as a sit down C1'er, then ok I guess!

@igotyourmac5 жыл бұрын
arrogance. you’re lucky the water did not get you and even more the locals liked you more than money. you treated them like mules to carry your boat and then acted like it was your conquest. cheap and a shame to paddling. smart of you to not paddle with the crocks. they do not care about money.
@danejacksonkayak5 жыл бұрын
The locals that carry the raft equipment and the kayaks, that is actually basically their full time job. They live in the villages by the take out and it's how they make their money for their families. They are actually incredibly insulted if you carry your own gear instead of hiring them. So the kayakers as well as the raft companies hire them to carry the equipment, and it's how they make a living.
@davidbayles64944 жыл бұрын
Arrogance on their part? Not. Ignorance on your part, however? Yep.
