I loved Chris Evans before I saw this and now I know he truly is my inspiration and hero. As Captain America and as a human, he makes me want to be a better, more understanding person. He is so real and genuine and I really relate to his anxiety. His family means the world to him and I relate so much with that as well. I wish him all the best and hope to find a man with the same kindness, understanding and values.

Chris, you mentioned in another video that you'd have liked to have said "shhh" to your worried, rattling brain at 12 years' old. I am wondering whether you were subject to some trauma at that age? Bullying at school, maybe, or something else? Something, or a few things in your teenage years, perhaps, that traumatised you? I have an idea, although I could be wrong, that daydreaming or worrying about the future, not being in the Now, is called dissociation (due to trauma) and if you get to 'the root of the root', (as Kati Morton, a brilliant psychotherapist who has her own KZbin channel says), with a good therapist, your mind will start to worry less. At least this is what I am hoping in my own same struggle, in my journey with a really good therapist. I hope this helps. I think you're a really wonderful, smart, compassionate guy and I'm really glad you enjoy doing what you're doing, acting. Long may it continue! Love, Mary

This is wonderful therapy in itself. People with anxiety just can't shut down the thoughts imediately, when I have brain noise myself I tell myself to just keep quiet and shut up or evaluate why I'm so anxious but that just makes the noise louder because I'm thinking about it. But what Chris said, bless his wondeful heart, with "shhh..." it's calm, quiet it makes you feel present and kinda distracts you from those thoughts for awhile and eventually it doesn't even matter. So, thank you very much for this, it would help me. :)
@unkownperson5804 жыл бұрын

He is incredibly smart, and it is so awesome to see his depth and humanity. He also has some really good advice. I have anxiety and a whole bunch of other lovely mental disorders, and at least half of them can be boiled down to "Shhh." If the thoughts come, it's fine, but let them go. You'll "shhh" soon enough. It's super difficult to put into practice, but it's so worth it. He should really do more of these videos. I'd friggin' pay for 'em because this is quality advice.

His voice is so calming. Hes just SO open about his issues. He just has that aura that tells people it's ok and everything's going to be all right. I love him. Not cause of how he looks or who he is as a actor, but cause hes chris. Just chris. And his personality is what is the best. I listen to this when I feel sad or depressed or anxious and it reminds me I'm not alone as well as calms me down. I just close my eyes and listen. His being, even on video, makes me feel comfortable enough to just break down and let things out. And if I dont break down, I usually start dozing off. When he says "shhh"i melt. Nothing has done that. Nothing. This just makes me want to cuddle him and not let go. Hes just so comforting like this. So vulnerable. Ugh. It sucks that I cant hug him or thank him in person for being just chris and thank him for everything.

I feel you! I always tried to fight back it when I was aware that something was kinda off in my brain. I always felt as there was something aside me and that's what he said. The Ego. Very true about what he says. I hear eckhart tolle in his answers but also his knowledge/experience with anxiety which I can relate with. The mind wants to comprehend everything is so true. I’m a daily meditator (2yrs) and it’s helped me for sure to learn about the calm state. But hearing this too affirms that there is nothing to figure out. Figuring it out is not the means to live life. Just being is a gift in itself. Of course it takes time to actually believe this but it’s good to hear from Cap that there is no need for an answer. It’s already here.

I love watching this video so much, I absolutely love how well spoken and down to earth Chris Evans is.

He is so deep and instropective. He thinks in pattern, concept and philosophy. He sure an Intuitive type (mbti theory), he seems to be an introvert too. I guess his type is infj or infp. Im infj too and i has similar struggle with my mind. How can he be so perfect

I think he's extrovert. Hes a true duality. He loves being the life of the party but he's so self aware and introspective.

I'm striving to do this myself. After some personal reversals, I'm hoping to get myself to this stage. I truly do wish Scientology would follow this route. They want to be perfect out of the gate, not fallible. Chris Evans is proof that you don't have to follow an ideology, rather, just be. Simple and honest. Thanks Chris.

As a high school senior, it's so hard to stay present because everyone around you starts to push kids to think of the future, think forward, plan out the next forty years of your life in four years, and I, personally, start to think months, years even, into the future instead of where I am right now. And it's probably a big part of my anxiety, but it's been learned, which makes it harder for me to unlearn it. But the "Shhh..." I love it, and I need to remind myself to just "Shhh".
