it's actually tsikoudia, a type of raki. But its proper name is tsikoudia. The accent goes on the last syllable.

The twitching when you're sleeping is called a hypnagogic sensation. It happens because your blood pressure drops too quickly as you're relaxing and falling asleep. Lol thanks psych

the dessert you were eating is called "kormos (κορμός)" and it's basically butter, chocolate, broken up cookies and walnuts all rolled up into a shape that resembles tree bark as that's what the name means also im pretty sure the drink they keep bringing you is not tequila but "raki (ρακί)" which is the most popular strong alcoholic beverage of Crete
@ΔήμητραΓρίβα-τ7τ7 жыл бұрын
Heyy!! I just wanted to inform you that the drink they gave you is raki! I'm from Greece and I can't drink it either, it's so strongg!! It is the alcoholic drink Crete is know for though... Every person there is in love with it and they have it every time of the day!! I hope you enjoyed your trip here and that you'll visit greece again soon!!

Κορμός Kormos or the literal translation is trunk. the other name is Μωσαϊκό Mosaic because of the patterns. Its chocolate ''creme'' frozen with biscuits inside. You can add whatever you want to spice this heavenly made thing up

Great videos Morgan! Thoroughly enjoyed both the Athens and Crete footage. You capture the essence of the places really well and it brought back wonderful memories of Greece for me. So thank you! FYI - I believe that dessert drink is called Tsipouro and is made from grapes. It's a good digestif but very strong. Keep up the great work.

when i was in crete in may, i had the same experience you guys did at dinner. they brought us "raki" (which is what the alcohol is called that they drink there/i'm pretty sure what you had) and we did the same thing, poured it into our water glasses because it was too strong haha! happened at almost every restaurant we went to within the 2 weeks we were there. so i feel you on that one! hope you're having fun! :) xo

In many places in Greece you are served ouzo after your meal -on Crete however, it is raki. And this is raki. It's very strong so it's usually only drunk in shots.
