This might be a lengthy and weird comment but here goes - I was homeless around the same time that you were also struggling to find a home. So I felt a weird connection to your experiences and your struggle that you documented on your channel that really helped make me feel less alone during that difficult time for me. So thanks for that! While I obviously have no window into your state of mind or personal life, I know for me personally, it was once I finally got a place, had settled down, made it my own... THAT was the moment where I began struggling with my mental health more then I ever had during the homeless period. Almost as if my brain was like, "hey you can relax now! .... how bout' we process all that stress and trauma now, huh?" and its been really tough and really frustrating, looking at your life and for the first time in a while, seeming like, in comparison, nothing is 'wrong' but you still feel so rough. So I hope you know that after struggling with something so integral to the self as the concept of 'home' in both a physical and mental sense, a period of reflection and mental funk is perfectly normal. Wishing you all the best!

I care about watching you get bagels. I can’t speak for all disabled people, but I think a lot of us appreciate having content where we can see people going about their lives on the days where we can’t get out of bed, even if it’s just normal stuff. I don’t know what it is about you, you just have a safe aura. Please do what makes you happy. It’s okay to fall apart sometimes. We support you.

Doing photography on the go is such a joy. One thing I did that gave me a reason to do so was creating a surname photo display for my sister when she got married. Always looking out for letters in the real world in unconventional ways (overlapping branches, hand rails with specific curves, etc.) kept me present in a way that I wasn’t usually other times. Happy to hear others find joy in that.

I'm late to the party again, but my first home was in Bethnal Green, and although we moved away, we would go back to visit family, and my uncle would take me to Brick Lane to buy beigels. This was back in the 1950s, and you would have been shocked to see what the beigel shop was like ( if it was the same one) back then. Charles Dickens would have felt at home there. For example, you could see into the bakery from the shop. The beigels were left to cool off on old floorboards balanced between two wooden chairs. The floor looked like the last time it had been swept was about 1890, but the beigels were delicious. It rose to notoriety in the 60's when the Cray twins who lived around Vallence Road used to frequent it. I love your videos so please make more.👍

I care about your little adventures as much as the big ones! But being present is important too. And if that means setting down the camera, or your phone, or your headset, then do that. You are more important than any content you could create. We are not defined by the things we give to the world, simply by being in the world (I know I know, I cringe from that too. It's hard to release the pressure). Do what's best for you. We'll be here. Also, Idea, (although I still love photographs on Insta,) perhaps you could incorporate more of the pictures you take in photo-shoot vlogs like this, so they aren't lost, if you do feel like sharing them. But not everything has to be shared, hobbies just for us are good too. Can't wait to see what's next!

Maybe it's a case of spreading yourself too thin or that you've just outgrown that particular avenue of interest, we all do it. You should always when possible do what you enjoy otherwise as you say it'll be a grind and content for content sake, which isn't a great recipe. Loved the Bagel review, as someone who lived in London for years and now moved way it's nice to see some authentic parts of London on KZbin than just the regular tourist attractions.

As someone who wears a backpack almost everywhere but barely knows London - is it normal to wear your backpack while sitting in a cafe and eating or just an Evan thing, or a London thing? I'd normally put mine under my table or chair, but is it too risky to do that in London? Feel like it would be uncomfortable to sit on a stool wearing a full bag and try to eat a big bagel. Sorry, weird question. :)
@evan Жыл бұрын
