This map is based off of King Of The Hammers. The most grueling 1 day off road race in the world. It's a week long event with many different classes and qualifying races through out the week. The main race is the last day... that being The King Of The Hammers. Happens at the end of January beginning of Febuary every year in Johnsons Valley California.

I never tried BeamNG, but just from watching videos, it's amazing how far they've come. I would love to see their physics and damage model put to use for a serious racing game. Sandbox mode is cool and all, but there's so much more potential here.

It's already pretty good as a racing game. It simulates almost everything except for tire thermals and tire wear

Beam MP has some gamemodes, but playercap is mostly maximum 12 because after 12 cars on the map u gonna need a pretty beefy computer :D

You should definitely try it. But be warned.. you need a pretty strong pc to run it. My old gpu could barely handle it at 20fps with zero AI cars

@@ROT4RYfc3s it's cpu not gpu intense my gtx 1060 been holding fine since I built the computer in 2015 many cpus newest is ryzen 7 5800 and I run 30 cars on west coast its crazy now

I don't think you're supposed to get outside that area. The map isn't actually as big as it seems, because most of it doesn't have rocks or shrubs or anything, just a mesh and a blurry texture. Would be cool to see it expanded like that though!

I've been to the actual Johnson valley a few times, my dad lives there, and this looks pretty close. The ground has a slightly brighter color and the mountains tend to be so rocky they look like giant piles of rock with the exception of a path up and path down. I so wish I could get this game.

That desert map is very detailed. To release it for free, is unusual. I don't know a lot about BeamNG. Did they get a lot of bad press like No Man's Sky, and they're releasing huge updates to earn back the goodwill they lost? Or are they just generous? Somewhere in between?

The red neck in me is loving this update. BTW the low rider as Drae called it is based on an existing “Sherpa” off road vehicle. I am so taking some of my Automation cars on that straight highway. Maybe see if I can make a “decent” off-roader while I’m there.

For the low gear crawling put it in realistic shifting mode so it won't shift so much randomly and keep stalling out.

For the people who don't know Johnson Valley is were king of the hammers is hosted its a 2 week long race with rock crawlers on steroids trophy trucks and peaple going and playing on the race track during the night the race starts at sun rise and end at sun down if you want to see some clips search up king of the hammers or ultra 4

The big wheel wydra is a sherp, it is meant to have very buoyant wheels to float and go on mud. Hence the low wheels with massive tires.

Fun fact, Stambecco is the Italian name for Ibex, basically a mountain goat. Stambecco Alpino is an Alpine Ibex. Its quite fitting for an offroad utility vehicle like the Autobello Stambecco.
