This album is so different from their priors. It’s such a good switch for their sound and the direction they’re going in. Vocally this album is an incredible step up. Musically, it hits ya right in the feels. An intricate, great work of art. Birdie Forever.

Architects came out with their album, I was like this is album of the year, then ERRA dropped, then Kostolom, then Lorna EP, then Wallflower, then Shaman, now this. And SION are dropping their album tomorrow too. This year has been amazing for metal. And many more are gearing up for next year already.

I honestly thought this was their most, for lack of better term, easy-to-swallow album. The previous three albums being concept albums (both respectively, and that tie together) always made me feel like they really need my undivided attention to appreciate the subtle intricacies and to follow the story being told (which I'm a sucker for). This one is a step away from that story and feels more personal and vulnerable, so to me, it needs to be listened to with less brain and more heart, if that makes sense. I can't remember who said it but one of the band members posted on IG that the previous albums were always telling someone else's stories, and now they want to tell their own story, and I feel like this album nails that. And as such, I feel like the less conceptual nature of this one makes it a bit more accessible to those who might've been scared off by the artsy side of TNGS/EWS/WTEB. Some might say that makes this album a little more "generic" but I would argue this is Silent Planet taking their sound and really honing in on it - the focus on composition is mindblowing to me, this album feels a lot shorter than what it is because of how well it flows. No one's going over the top or doing more than what a songs needs, despite the fact they're all playing and sound the best they have in their career. TLDR: It's just straight up good songwriting by great musicians who happen to be amazing dudes.

As a fan of SP this is by far my favorite album from them! They sound HUGE in this, and I love the way they tried a lot of new things and honestly all worked really well. It’s refreshing hearing a new SP, I mean don’t get me wrong but as Bodgan already said all the past albums sound kinda “the same” in terms of sound. Guys this is progression, evolution don’t be afraid of changes, in this case this is a good change they didn’t got softer, and poppy it’s still Silent Planet with new musical elements. Im in love with this one!

So after re listening to the album over and over, it is definitely one of the most important album to come out in the recent years for me ! When you talk about the Depths trilogy coming to an end, I feel like even tho, it's not called Depths IV, Iridescent (the song) as A LOT of similarities to Depths II and III in terms of writing and song structure (the clean intro, Garret having that "clean", speech voice tone is recognized for, the overture to the others instrumentation and the epicness in the verse and the HUGE breakdown at the end to close the song and the album !! I just can't see how it's not linked in some ways to Depths II and III while still being in that new sound that defines the album and makes it one of the best album closer of this year !!!

These boys have an absolute WELL of creativity and passion. They channel it into their music so well. Even better, each member from Garrett, to Alex, to Thomas, to Mitch, is a genuine and wonderful human being. Love SP forever. Be consumed.

As a fan of prog and weird core music, to me, this doesn't sound odd at all. Maybe someone who prefers more generic and formulaic metalcore bands might have issues with this record, but other than that I don't see how a fan of the genre as a whole could be turned off by this album, it's so damn well written, and GOOODDDD. Simple as that.

I can't believe its finally here. I waited so long. This band is in my top5 fav bands and oh boy did this album deliver! I absolutely love it. I feel so blessed and spoiled because Oct and Nov has releases of projects/albums from 3 out of 5 of my fav bands, Invent Animate, Silent Planet, and Imminence. So I'm in heaven with music! I do feel Imminence will for sure have AOTY, I'm expecting it and will still be blown away by it but this album from silent planet is incredible it's funny their last album was titles When the End Began because this album here has a apocalypse feeling/ end times feeling and this album should of been called that lol

This is one of my favorite albums of this year and I am also a new listener to this band. Haven't heard any of their previous material. This album feels a lot like Blood Youth's "Visions From Another Hell" which is also one of my favorite albums of the year. That album is amazing and unfortunately quite underrated. So I would highly recommend for you to check that one too, since you liked this album. It is also really personal, emotional and raw, but at the same time really catchy, heavy, effective, versatile and overall enjoyable album to listen to.

Not entirely sure how I feel about this album. I recognize it is a change in sound for them, a lot heavier with electronic elements, I also think this is the best Garrett has ever sounded. They need to be careful about overusing the clean vocalist. I'm having a little trouble understanding the meaning behind many of the songs, themes from their previous works are usually very clear but this album feels a lot more conceptual. Lyrics are still top-notch though. I think I will enjoy it more with more listens, but their older stuff still stands apart for me.
@mpk66643 жыл бұрын
I disagree. The clean vocals have always been something SP hasn't really explored/experimented with in the past. Now that Mitch and Garret have both refined their cleans they can be more than just what they were.
