You know when you are watching someone who has mastered their talent when they make it look easy. Oh, just lift and slip pot, just redo some moss here/there, minor branch pruning, snip snip… and you watch and think, well, i want to do that! But years, I’ve got years of experience I need to experience before it comes so natural and easy. Thank you Nigel for sharing your experience and making it seem so snip snip, and here we go :)

This is such a fun planting! I can almost see the fairies and a puck climbing up the biggest trees for a wee lil diddly, playing their flutes and planning shenanigans on humankind (Midsummer nights dream) 💚💚💚

You really succeded in making the cedarforest more visible,I think. . And the main tree is very beautifull, indeed. Thanks again, for sharing it!

Hi Nigel. The way you showed how to get the planting into the new pot I found brilliant. It may be a simple process to you but I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. It's a problem we all face in repotting / slip-potting and you have shown that it is not a matter of trepidation. Thank you. 👍👍

Thujas have become some of my favorite bonsai species. You certainly have a wide variety of styles which have been inspirational. Thanks, keep growing

Great forest planting if when you go very close to the front and look in you can imagine it is a full size forest which is a great skill to achieve.

You should plant a moss garden on the rock floor in your green house then you can have an unlimited supply of moss that would be really cool and I love that frost and it will look really cool has it gets older

Fantastic job getting the forest into the new pot for the show! I thought the trees looked good, but seeing them in person again today… they look even better! There is something you just can’t capture on video. Lots of people will be lucky to see this live in person at a fall show.. they will understand what I mean then! 🐦💙

It looked really nice before, it looked really nice after. I'm sure it will look really nice for the fall shows... I loved that planting before the new trees were added. I was meh, when you added them, but now I see where you're taking the planting. I think it's great. Like a little grove.

Looks good Nigel, another thing that jumped out at me before you removed the moss was I could picture the new bonsai soil being water and the moss and trees being an island. Maybe the water effect could have been enhanced more if blue gravel was on top. Just another idea for the future.

I think it's odd what the difference can be weather wise in a short distance of the world. He was saying that this was one of the driest summers he can remember. Here where I live, we got all the way to mid July before there was 4 straight days without rain making it the wettest summer since '93.

You seem to have a lot of Thuja trees in your collection, are they actually the wild type or are they some cultivar such as Smaragd which is just used for hedging? The forest looks reall good and because of the small trees surrounding the main tree, it makes it look really huge. Also, how many flushes of growth do these Thujas get?

yep we have a die summer to omost no rain.

Have you thought about collecting water from the roof of your house in a frost-safe large cistern in the ground? I am thinking about this for my house since we are having several dry months now. I am concerned that authorities might forbid to use tap water for the garden.

Can I ask you a question Nigel? I’m new to this if someone uses just pure inorganic soil and no organic soil how does the tree get nutrients? Do you need to fertilize everyday? Thanks
