This album is simply put incredible. The riffage from Jessie is dirty. JTs heavies hit hard, the choruses are catchy while being unique at the same time. The mixing is awesome. ERRA i salute you for bringing some spice into metalcore!

AOTY for me. Pretty early, I know, but I’m pretty comfortable with my choice. Every song is phenomenal. Holding Absence and Beartooth will most likely be 2 and 3, then the new Northlane record if it’s released this year. I’m not sure after that, but what I do know is Erra’s album is my number 1 AOTY, that will not change. It is goddamn incredible. By the end of Memory Fiction, I was pretty much in tears. Also for those who don’t know, I’ve heard this album is actually a concept album about the Japanese Suicide Forest. Defo makes sense if you read the lyrics, especially on Memory Fiction and Electric Twilight. Overall though, 11/10. Couldn’t have been more satisfied and I’ll absolutely be binging this album for years to come.

Sam is definitely the most influential vocalist in the genre and the guitar work has been mimicked so many times in other bands' music. But damn after drift, neon and NOW THIS. I'm like geez this band doesnt relent. And this album is a straight up masterpiece. I totally agree, theyre already arguably the best but especially after Architects newest album ( which I do like) I think its obvious whos been more consistent and its gotta be erra. This last album from architects didnt quite hit the mark theyre used to achieving. Youre right i think Erra takes it.

JT needed to expand his range for me to enjoy him more and to compete somewhat with Garrison, he finally did that here and on Eye of God. Also he adds cleans which are insanely enjoyable on the new music. May I ask your opinions on Impulse and Augment because I saw you didn't mention them.

@@sarcasm4371 so I've been listening to augment and impulse for many years. it took a while for impulse to grow on me but augment just blew me away the moment I heard alpha seed and the entire album is incredible. The reason at that time, I wouldn't have hailed them as the best metalcore band is simply because the music itself was very Niche and and progressive and i knew that. it's almost as if ERRA was a "specialist" type of band where not everyone could love them the same because it's such a particular and distinct sound made for a certain audience in the metalcore scene. I think what makes a band the best is its General dominancy and ever since architects released all our gods have abandoned us that album pretty much covered all the bases as far as what could make a band the very best and the most influential with an album full of bangers that I think everyone can agree that was what solidified the already looming fact that, "Architects is the best". Drift for me was amazing because it really embodied the ambience of Errras sound and showed us a much more Vivid and encompassing atmosphere that erra could provide. And they did this with a brand new vocalist! and then neon which definitely lined up with a lot more of the metalcore sound we generally here which I think is what made Erra much more palatable to the people who maybe didn't like them at first. That accompanied with the fact that they're one of the few bands who have been able to release consistently good albums without relenting when other bands May release hit-or-miss albums erra has been able to consistently change their style and still sound amazing even changing their vocalist while still making some of the best music in the genre for many years. And its obvious Jesse is probably the BEST guitarist/ melodic vocals on the genre.
