Cheers Mark, that's an awesome deal I'll have to see if there is one close by! I just have the Charlotte's for now, but might have a look at some late crops too!

You inspired me to look for an allotment in the local area and make enquiries. In Lock down, I've become obsessed with garden and growing my own but don't have much space in my paved garden. Thank you x

Oh my days, wow. That's so crazy that I'm an inspiration but I'm so glad that you're looking into getting a plot! It is so much fun and a total escape from the house and all the concrete! Good luck and please let me know how it goes, I'd love to hear what your plot is like and what you do with it!

@@MyCarbonCoach I've actually got my name on a waiting list today and I've been told it could be about 2-3 months which is great! I'm raring to go and am looking at what to grow and build like a mad woman.

Another great video, I did no dig on my potatoes and It worked great. Only thing I would recommend is too put up some sort of fence around them when they are larger and forming. We have lots of squirrels here, my neighbors kept finding potatoes that the squirrels had dug up from my garden. Take care, Cheers, Jenn

Thanks so much for stopping by again Jenn. I'm glad to hear that no dig worked out well for you, I've got high hopes for it! I haven't seen more wildlife up on the site at all so far, mostly magpies, but will keep my eyes peeled!

I'm enjoying your videos. I love that you admit "I have no idea what I'm doing." I hate when people pretend they know, when they don't. You're a humble guy.

Thanks so much! Yep the best policy is honesty and not being afraid to ask for help and advice. There's so much to learn and I can only keep so much in my head lol!

I've just started watching your videos. Really keen to have a go myself and it's great to get some pointers from you. Can I suggest peat free compost next time? Peat is a major carbon sink and digging it up releases tonnes of carbon into the atmosphere. There are lots of peat free composts available that are much better for the environment. Look forward to your next video.

Thanks so much Richard! I didn't even think to check about peat in the compost so that's a really excellent point thanks. We've just been learning about that at uni too. I'll pay closer attention! I'm not sure when the next video will be out, hopefully at the weekend, it just depends how free I'll be to actually head to the plot! Cheers buddy

great video, lovely to see your enthusiasm and to see you cracking on with getting beds ready. It is important when chitting potatoes that you do that in a cool bright spot, so that the shoots are short and strong not long and easily snapped off. It is normal for potatoes to shrivel and go soft when chitting because they are putting their energies into making shoots. Charles Dowding does a great video on growing potatoes the no dig way, I found it a real eye opener!!! good luck and all the best.

Hello again Izzy! Yep I took your previous comment on board and got some actual growing prep done and I feel so much better for it, thank you! That's fantastic info about the temperature and things for chitting, will definitely remember that for future batches. Can't wait to get them in the bed now!

Your potato’s roots look ready to me! I can see through the bag lovely stubby roots😊 don’t want to plant them very stringy they often break when you top soil them🌼 Thumbs up 👍
