Hello from the USA! You're doing great! Have enjoyed following your journey. Ell wanted to let you know I developed Preeclampsia in my 1st pregnancy in week 37. My "headache" symptom just felt like I was getting a headache, not a full headache. Then when my vision (blurred and doubled) was affected I went to the ER and was induced to delivery my daughter. Please also watch for swelling especially around your ankles. I'm sure you're test results will be fine and I'm so looking forward to seeing your precious bundles of joy. Take care and rest as much as you can.

Get after pregnancy care products now. Pads poise style, hot water or hot pad for hips and back and loads of comfy clothes. Schedule a house cleaning if you can afford it and have family members come watch the boys while you shower and bring a dish of food for you both when they come by. They sleep a lot! You do wonderfully ♥️

I also had Gestational Diabetes with my first pregnancy. You will do fine. They told me no fruits until after 12pm because of the natural sugars. My go to in the morning was an English muffin with peanut butter on it. Try pricking your ring finger on the side to draw blood, that was my best option for success. Good luck to you, it won’t be long now and you and Fab will be holding your precious boys in your arms. 🥰

I had GD there with my first baby born in September there. I had to test 7 times a day and use insulin at night. I was induced at 38 weeks as they were worried about growth and weight being 10+ pounds at that stage and my girl was born weighing 7lb... It's something you have to do but please don't stress as the measurements and scans can clearly be off. Looking forward to seeing your boys being a parent is the greatest joy 💞

Bless you Ell! My son was 9lb 6oz (born at 38 weeks) and I had doctors asking me when my twins were due! You have two babies that are basically the same weight as my son was - you are amazing! My Aunts twins were 8lz 6oz and 8lb 5oz when they were born which is crazy to me! I’m 5’10 and my Aunt is 5’11 so our bodies were prepared to have big tall babies! You are so tiny and carrying two strong and tall boys who take after their Daddy Fab - you are amazing! I’m so sorry you have gestational diabetes to deal with, I pray that God will heal you and the boys of the diabetes and any of the side effects (on babies blood sugar and weight) that it can have.

El, I had gestational diabetes in my first pregnancy 6 years ago and my boy was 8lb 8 (predicted from growth scans to be 9lb 10!) I had an emergency C-section and the only problem after was that baby couldn't get warm and was under a heat lamp for 24 hours. No lasting symptoms or anything. In my second pregnancy I was tested 3 times and never got gestational diabetes but had an 8lb 3 baby via csection. I'm made to grow big babies. you are wonder woman carrying around 9lb of babies already with a few weeks to go! You are doing fantastic xxx

Very good speech, Eli, in relation to the gap in the stairs!! I have brought up 4 boys, all very close together in age (3 under 3 at one point) and you are so right. Children need to be taught and they need to learn for themselves. You can't protect them from everything. The biggest thing you can do for them (relating to safety I mean), is to equip them with the info they need to make good choices! And of course they will have accidents along the way... Let me tell you that I had many, with 4 little boys!! But they learnt from them.
@fabandell2 жыл бұрын
Exactly this!!! We can’t shelter them from all dangers in life, we need to teach them about them.
@dancebasedancer2 жыл бұрын
@@fabandell exactly! And all of this still applies as they grow into teenagers! Teaching our children how to make good choices is the way forward. Allowing them to make their own mistakes and to ensure that they learn from these mistakes, is key. Above all, assuring them that they will STILL be loved, even when they make a mistake (within reason ha!) in life, is everything. I think you will be a wonderful mother, Eli.

You two are just great. Those little boys don't know yet just how lucky they are. You are both going to be great parents. Ell is right about the stairs if you make your house like a padded room they won't learn the possibility of dangerous things that they have to figure out how to navigate around safely. Fab is right about you going out and exercising their alittle to big for that. Except swimming that is good and risk of danger to babies is zero because no gravity in water puts no pressure on umbilical cords or their spinal cords. The house their room all looking great. I'm so excited you would think I'm part of your family waiting for them to be here. Guess that what happens when you decide to become a youtuber. When I first clicked your video over a year ago I didn't know I'd be pacing the floors counting down days. Love from Missouri USA. Well done Fab & Elle, watched your insta post re- gestational diabetes, keep up the good work. Yes go for a walk after eating helps burn what you have eaten. Hi Ell, i am type 1 diabetic (and have had it for the last 13years) and like you said, you do what you have to do to be healthy and happy. Your doing amazing and there was nothing you could of done to prevent the gestational diabetes, it can happen to anyone. Although i haven't experienced diabetes through pregnancy, i can let you know some helpful tips on the carbs/ snacks front from a diabetics point of view. Surprisingly vegetables, fruits and other foods also contain carbs but often starchy food have more in. Be aware carbs such as brown bread/ pasta ect are better and fruits like bananas , mango, grapes ect are actually quite high in carbs/ sugar. I often snack on things like nuts, berries, fruit like apples, sometimes some plain/greek yoghurt with my fruit, flavored rice crackers and my fav jelly! As your currently borderline it sounds like you've got a bit more flexibility and i think you will definitely be able to get away with having some sweet treats, it just may be that its better in the middle of the day where you also have time to go for short walks ect after or only when you eat certain meals prior. My best tip though at the end of the day is dont beat yourself up if your blood sugars spike, adapt, adjust and just keep moving forward. Its a learning curve and your doctors will understand that too! Please don't put to much pressure on yourself, your doing fab ;) Love you both!!

You should put a clothes line up in your back yard for the washing Fab. And maybe make another register cover for the toy room to keep them from burning their fingers. Ell you can eat your oatmeal, yogurts, fruit, salad, raw veggies. Just eat small meals throughout the day. I am type 2 diabetic, I eat granola bars ,fruits, eat your cherries in a smoothie and make other smoothies with yogurt that's low in sugar. Drink lots of water. Fab she needs to walk alot to burn off the sugar or small amounts of carbs she eats.
@fabandell2 жыл бұрын
We have one but it rains a lot in England :(! I unfortunately can’t have oatmeal, yoghurt or fruit as it makes me spike :(! I’ve also been told by my diabetic nurse to avoid smoothies at all costs as they are packed with sugar x

@@fabandell oh wow. There is low sugar yogurt. And if you buy lactose products, they have less sugar. That's what I eat for my sugar. Soon it will be over Hun. They'll be here and your sugars should level out. Mine did. But as soon as I hit my late forties it came back as type 2.

When I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes I found it extremely difficult with what to eat because I also would eat a lot of carbs. One thing they told me I should do is only have 1 meal a day with carbs in so if I had toast in a morning then I wouldn't have anything with carbs in for the rest of the day. I also 'mixed' rice and pasta's with white and whole wheat. If you are not a massive fan of wholemeal bread, try hovis 50/50 to start off with. its about learning to compromise on your diet. Hope this helps you x

Oh my goodness - your pregnancy sounds just like mine which was sooooo long ago! My identical twin boys were the second and third children and I developed GD with my first child in the 8th month! With the twins, I was on a diabetes diet from 4 or 5 months on....I literally had a hard time eating everything they put on my diet instructions. I'm not sure how you are still driving - I couldn't reach the pedals any longer (I'm 5'2") so had to be driven - I ended up being 48" around and delivered at 35 weeks...the twins were 6.7oz and 6.6oz - pretty big for 5 weeks early. Of course my first one was 9.5oz and born on his due date. Here is a tip - always have pictures taken with Baby A on one side and Baby B on the other - after many years passing by, you think you might remember but sometimes it is soooo hard to tell who is who! They change every week when they are little! I love your channel - enjoy every minute and record a lot in the first year - it was a bit of a gray fog for me. Another thing - if they are mirror image twins, one might be right handed and one left handed .... I did a lot of reading after I had my boys and their hair cowlicks (swirls) actually go in opposite directions - this is why if you went to school with identical twins, they would part their hair on opposite sides. Just some twin fun facts. Some identicals are not mirror image - they are the same on everyting. I think you guys are doing great!

One more thing to get for baby boys' bums is have hydrocortisone ointment (cream will dissolve when wet) on hand for any redness that the normal bum cream did not prevent. There is nothing worse than changing a little one with a sore bum. If the hydrocortisone doesn't work they will probably have a yeast infection, and need a doctor visit for a prescription.

Can I suggest high protein food - as it fills you up, is good for the babies and will keep your blood sugars down. Bacon and egg for breakfast, if you feel the need for carbs then make them high fibre - baked beans etc. See if your body can cope with brown rice (do not eat white rice) wholemeal pasta etc. It is suprising once the sauce is on there - it is quite good. Your body may cope with dried fruit (as it is high fibre). A good snack food could be boiled eggs, slices of ham filled with cottage cheese/or cream cheese. I am not someone who like sweet things much Be very careful of savory food that are high carb eg pastry. Good luck it wont be for long.!

I have a serious complaint to make: Can you guys stop being so cute and watchable? 😉 Super excited to watch you both embark on this next life chapter. Apologies if you’ve listed it somewhere and I’ve missed it, but do you have a registry of any sort (Amazon wishlist or other) so that your KZbin followers can send you a little something as you prepare to welcome your boys? Congratulations again and so happy for you! ❤️

Guys I’m sure you don’t have to pay to park at the hospital at the moment! Might be worth checking. I parked on that estate when my dad was in hospital and the people living there were fuming (not that I was bothered as it was an emergency)! Xxx

I was just sick when I realized that my boys bath tub toys with holes in the bottom were full of black mold. You seem to be prepared for the boys.
