I really am a person that loves traditions. I know that I’ve told you guys this before but I really do have a lot of traditions for my children because I want something that they can hold onto and remember and hopefully share with their kids when they have a family. I grew up in a family with traditions, traditions for the first day of school, Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving, birthdays, the start of summer and the start of Christmas break. My mom was really big on doing traditions for us to to build memories so a lot of those I have taken and carried on with my family.
My children are older but I do really love putting stockings together and they really do look forward to it. I don’t care how old you are stockings are awesome, I even love my husband and girls filling my stocking. Sometimes my husband does a good job sometimes he doesn’t but I’m thankful that my stocking is filled with things that he finds & he always explains to me why he chose them.
Oh it’s just another thing that we do to make memories for our children to carry-on hopefully to our grandchildren and our great grand children. Can you tell that I’m kind of emotional as I get older, I’m seeing our lives change so much with our children and how they are not too far from having their own families and building their own traditions. So I’m trying to cling onto as much as I can 🥹😍
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and thank you so much for supporting our family and watching our every day living and family traditions.

It’s refreshing no matter what…my husband grew up in a family whom always loved to spend money on kids. He turned out just fine…lol it’s ok to spend money. Never everrrr judge….my sons best friend was very “spoiled” people would say….people did not know he had a brain surgery and not much time on this planet…so they let him have whatever he wanted while he was alive. Never judge. You never know….love ❤

Heather don't listen to the hate because not one single person should be throwing any shade your way! You're an amazing Mom who loves, respects and cherishes her family and it shows. You don't overshare, you actually cook real food for your family and nothing you ever do is for shock value! There are some nasty people out there on social media and you're FAR from being one. Keep being you! ❤

I must say, you're a breathe of fresh air when it comes to large Family influencer channels. You bought practical gifts tailored to each child's age and what they like to go inside the stockings instead of just blind buying the same exact number of a bunch of Amazon trash for every child just to create a video. Nice to see someone who doesn't Gift teenagers the same things they gift toddlers. Your children are so lucky and blessed, you create a magical Christmas for them without all of the unnecessary waste. Good job mama!!❤️❤️

I know this video was 7 months ago, but I wanted to say I love your family but especially love you as a mother. Im a mom of 2 grown children that are 26 and 29 and I still cook my daughter's favorite meals or bake for her. Just because your children get older, you never stop being a parent, and I love that you still do things for them. They will always remember that. I feel terrible you have to explain yourself to the ones that just don't get it and to the ones that didn't have moms like us then I wish I could be there for you in that way. I will never stop being a mom no matter how old my children are. 🥰

I love the fact u buy such thoughtful and needed/practical gifts. People are so fed up of seeing certain 'family bloggers' spending 1000's.and 1000's of dollars on crap thats had no thought put into it whatsoever other then how expensive it was! Plus we know the kids eat what you cook and.you don't waste food 'just because you can' please never change your content! You are the only 1 doing it the 'right' way!

I personally love your family. I think your a great mom. To all these haters: no one likes a negative Nancy🤬, start being a positive Pamela😁 ...... to momma Bell, misery loves company and don't ever explain how you do things, why you don't do this or that. Keep doing things the way you do them, not one parent in this world is perfect. Honestly what you do for these kids is not only life changing, but selfless. Both you and your husband have huge hearts. You show these kids love, do many things with these kids etc. They may have never had a life until you guys got them. Your family is the best. Much love from Indiana❣️❣️❣️

You know Heather, I'm 36. I lost my mom bcos of cancer when I was 7yo, my dad when I was 12yo. I only have a lil memory of them especially my mom, but I always remember that we always have the best christmas day! We always have Christmas stockings, we always have the best christmas presents because of our aunts from the US, and bcos we are not rich, we just get to eat steak during Christmas eve and New Year's eve, that is why every time I see steak, it always reminds me of our family being complete during those special dinners. Those are the core memories I have. Life is too short to listen to those toxic people, I know its hard to not mind them, but please just continue being you, continue being the light of this family. Continue making core memories for these kids. ♥️

Heather, you mentioned people who give you advice, or share tips, which I don't think I have ever thought to do, except during this video 🙂 ... I kept thinking: if you line up the stockings along the long edge of the bed that maybe it would be easier to divvy out the gifts you're going to stuff in them. That's it, that was my thought. Thank you for your recitation of "A Visit From St. Nicholas," it brought tears to my eyes - I haven't heard it in so long. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. ✝️🙏🕊️🎄

It is different as our children get older. We raise them to become responsible working adults. I find so much joy in watching my boys grow into adults. The role is just as important but it is different. 💜💜

Don't listen to a word they say. You are a mom - and you don't have to justify being close and connected to your children. And food is comfort and love - and sharing meals is universal love language for all human beings. And we are in the age of disconnect where phones and electronics take the place for actual one-on-one in person contact, how humans were meant to interact, not just find things to look at on your phone to fill up your time. As mentioned, time is precious, and one should not have to justify loving your family. I don't see you doing anything that is wrong or harmful to their independence or future endeavors, if anything it makes them stronger knowing they have the support and love with them and behind them in life's pursuits. I lived in MN for many years and there is close connection of family life there (and it takes time to earn the inner circle there if you didn't grow up around them) - sharing hobbies and so forth so naturally you would spend more time together. And of course, holidays and celebrations - and food are part of that. So this idea that you turn 18 and then get kicked out the house does go over with me at all. Doesn't mean they sit around and do nothing, no way. But if you love to cook and your children are working - and for the family company, why not cook for them. I am sure they all appreciate all you do - and how much you love them. I am not sure why so many have issue with it. And lastly, in many instances, adopted and foster children may need more time with parents, as their life has not been the easiest - but your children are not lazy but have a strong work ethic, even within the home helping out. Check out Sailing the Zahara, it 's family from MT/way of TX that sold everything and bought a boat and has been sailing around the world for about 6 years now, starting when the kids were younger like 6 and 7 and 11 and 13. And they got crap for suggesting their kids could live with them forever, as long as they were productive and so on , and while the oldest daughter went to college at 18, the son below her stayed on the boat when turned 18 and graduated from high school. And all those children work...on the boat, maintaining it, sailing it and night watches, etc., but they also have business deals and sponsorships. And so they got so much slack for suggesting they didn't have these kids to just kick them to the curb at 18. They wanted a closer family unit, and that is one reason they decided to chuck it all and take the family on adventure of lifetime - to be closer to each other instead of letting the world tear them apart with disconnection due to societal norms, electronics - and all this stuff that keeps us from really connecting personally and in person. And they are closer than ever because of that decision, and their marriage is stronger as well. So I just don't understand it. I will say though, I believe Izzy is bit overindulged in many of these shopping vids. She seems to always want something when you go shopping with her - so now that she is earning her own money, she should start to break from that habit - or spend her own loot. And like you said, she wants to spend money on vacation, but you have to make sure she understands money - and earning and spending it. So easy to just give in to it --for whatever justifiable reasoning you have for doing it, or her justifying her need for these items. I saw you stick to your guns once - but I saw you make a stand once - and that was good thing. Kids can be so convincing and as parents they can be hard to say no to when you love them so much and believe they are doing so well, they need to be indulged. I am not saying ever indulge but you don't want that to turn into a shopping and spending habit for her as she grows into a independent adult.
