video suggestion: how to stay true to your style in a smart casual environment? Maybe theme it to retail, waitressing, the office, etc? Since I started working in a dress code environment I have felt quite nervous about my presentation as I throw things together I'm not used to - I've fallen into the trap of casual wear i.e. baggy jeans, short skirts, fish nets, tank tops, loose jackets. loved this video btw!

Yes please make an OC lookbook! I remember that I got so much style inspo from that show. I even sewed my own version of a cute tweed jacket with short puff sleeves that Marissa wore in one episode. Also during the same time, I made two balloon skirts because I was obsessed 😅 (similar to what you call a bubble hem) That velvet dress you thrifted looks sooo good - I love a hoodie dress! 😍

The fact that you made the pants yourself really warms my heart. Most KZbins would probaly just order some cheap copy from like aliexpress or shein which supports the fast fashion, as someone who also makes her clothes sustainably and a fashion student I was really excited to see that, hopefully more people will try doing the same with clothes and fabrics they already have :)

The year was 2010, I was 14. My mom took me shopping and I found the most AMAZING grey bubble hem DerekHeart dress at JCPenny. I wanted it so badly, but I knew it would be deemed too short by my mom because it was above my knees. I was unsuccessful in my pleading, and never got to live my bubble hem dreams. Omg my jaw droppeddd when you pulled out StyleSurfing🤯 I discovered it in a local library in my early tweens (late 2000's), loaned it multiple times and it might even been the first book I've ever read in english, the pictures just we're so coooool i read it many times when i couldn't even properly understand english. The library had also other books by Ted Polhemus and those + Fruits we're and still are like a bible to me🙏 thank you for reminding me of the book, i might even buy it for myself now as an adult.
