Thanks for this podcast! We were still discussing in office about the World Cup Final yesterday. It will take only a World Cup win to kind of heal that trauma for fans. Unfortunately, we end up on the losing side with someone from the opposition becoming our nemesis in ICC tournament Semi / Finals more often than not.

Random gyan: So Hardik will get 15 crores, which is his salary. Apart from that GT and MI would have agreed on a 'transfer fee' , of which Hardik is eligible to receive upto 50% of it. That split of the transfer fee between seliing franchise (GT) and player (Hardik) will have to be mutually decided by those parties. Super fun podcast, btw :)

@@WakeUpPant that's a fee decided mutually by the selling and buying teams. It doesn't need to be disclosed publicly (yeah it's a slightly iffy system that has come to light with this transfer). But both teams will fill that amount up in the trade form that BCCI has. The board will ensure the agreed upon percentage share from that trade goes to the player. It essentially means that the concept of equality that the IPL based itself on that all teams will have the same purse to build a roster is not quite true. For outside the auction room, the owners with more in their bank accounts can easily build the strongest squads and teams willing to cashify their assets (players) can do so. They might be a weaker team as a resukt but for the owners, IPL is a business before it's a sport. It'll be interesting to see if the other franchise raise objection to this...

When you said cricketers are taking PL and people should not bother about it because they won’t get paid 25 lakhs for that series. My question to you that why they’re not taking leaves during IPL? It’s just a league at the end. Even county’s pride is not evolving in it. You know the answer ALL focus on money. Per day = Per Series in terms of money. May be more, in case they’re dealing with Cash as well. So, when you justify one is taking leave when child is born and another is not taking leave when child is born , both are okay. It’s not okay. Doesn’t justify the leadership of Virat Kohli. Now we won the series, so it looks fine but Imagine if we lost it badly! So, for MSD country first. For him may be not.Individually Virat is a great player but not as a captain for sure. Do you know where Australians win ? Because India is a team of champions but Australia is a champion team.
