Omg this video was so cute. I totally relate to abbys feelings around the holidays and Matt is so sweet the way he really tries to lift her spirits and be positive and empathetic. I really admire your guys’ friendship and support of one another. My husband is not like that so I’d be at target and decorating the house by myself lol. I feel you about missing home during the holidays. I went to college in florida and when November hit it was still 80° outside and no fall colors. We decorated our dorms but nothing feels the same, but it did make me more grateful for time with family and that Christmas I cherished coming home so much! ❤️💚

Thank you guys for always being so so so real, honest, and vulnerable. I totally understand missing family and wanting to be home for the Christmas season. Family is so important to me, and I will be moving away to New Mexico next year when I get married - far from my family. I completely relate to when the Christmas season comes around it doesn't feel like Christmas. Back in 2014 my parents, siblings, and I moved to Guatemala to become missionaries at an orphanage. In case you don't know Guatemala is in Central America, close to the equator which makes it really hot here. So Christmas isn't always the same since we were used to the colder Christmases we had in Virginia where we used to live. It's definitely different and just wanted to let yall know that you aren't alone with this feeling. Merry Christmas! 😁

Abby, when I spent Christmas away from my Family it was just as hard, maybe even harder bcs they were going through one of the hardest times we ever faced as a family. But instead of thinking about all of the things I was missing out on I tried to embrace the christmas culture I got to experience, the people I got to meet, the different traditions they invited me to take part in and the special things I would have never known if I hadn't been there. Look at it as an experience you will one day be telling your kids about. Like "Look at this picture when Mom and Dad spent Christmas in a bathing suit!!" - What also helped me a lot was keeping busy, so as for your thoughts not to wander too much. Xx

I have seasonal depression and my whole family lives in California and the past four years I lived in nevada and I never could be there for the holidays but I always was able to go right after . Now my fiancé and I have moved to Florida and I feel so sad not going to be with them this year because of how expensive it would be to fly both of us . So I get how you feel :/ also all my decorations for the holidays are in nevada still along with all our books and clothes and family memories .
