Cheers Cesca. Typically we get high winds after taking the covers off. Now I have a pond full of petals from the tree.

Hi Jim great update nice to see your up and running for summer. The tree of life looks good and yes the green waste bin is £68 a year in westcliff. Your fish are looking great. Please keep in touch. Hopefully, have a chat soon. All the best Ron 👍👍

Cheers Ron. Typically I uncover the pond and we get high winds and a big temperature drop. I went down to feed the fish today and the pond looks like it's snowed. Completely covered in petals from the tree.

Ivy can be a menace, but i like it, so i put up with the extra work keeping it under control. You are right though, it does look bad for a while when it needs a hard cut back. your fish are spectacular, I turned my fish pond into a wildlife pond when a local Heron ate all my fish one night. Your Council brown bin is expensive! ours is £59 a year.

Ivy does look nice but it spreads so fast. I had problems with predatory cats but I solved that with the jet sprays either end of the pond. I've also got a wire fence I can install on the far side of the pond. Herons don't tend to come near my pond as it is a bit crowded and limited room for them to take off. I wont make a comment about our corrupt council.

Nice update Jim they have grown them fish be careful taking covers off had snow up in Yorkshire. It sure is horibble stuff that algae my ponds got lots

Hi Carol. Hope you are well. It's not the algae that is the main problem with the pond but rather the Moss. Loads love it but it gets that bad around my pond that limp break off and end up floating around in the pond. It was typical after just taking the covers off the wind picks up and blows all the flowers off the tree, straight into the pond. I've got the ASHP on the pond so I'm not too worried about the temperature drop. As long as it doesn't go on too long.
