Getting ready for winter

I’m just about ready to add plastic to our chicken run. It got down to 34 at night but not during the day. I’ve removed all shade cloth and put up the one tarp I use for northern protection. The plastic goes all the way around the run near the coop but not the larger extension. I am like you and want the light coming through for warmth. They seem at least smart enough to get to the plastic area when the wind comes. That’s funny your chicken wanted over the fence considering how big their area is. Crazy chickens 😂

Yeah, air flow or ventilation is also important. I leave spaces open away from the wind in the winter. I can always pull it down when I have to. And I've not had a flock before that kept wanting to jump the fence. I loaded out my solar charger for the premier fencing and never got it back. I think I have to invest in another one and get the fencing charged back up. What we do for our chickens. Only chicken mamas understand :)
