There's a wire that's connected to the manifold, make sure its grounded properly. The car will never start if that's not connected.

Runs perfectly fine without it, you won't realize that it's not there.

The properly functioning IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) does the same job.

Will this effect the emissions at all? Also will it give a check engine light after delete?

Get the car scan because it's not an electrical part so it shouldn't give you a code. Make sure nothing was accidentally unplugged.

Would it pass smog in Ca if i install this kit? They get really picky lol

I don't think it will affect smog because this just assist with the heating up of the engine.

The hole on the manifold stripped, would it be okay to drill and rethread it? or what's a better way to go about it? I'm wanting to delete the idle air assist valve regardless

Yes that be done but I suggest removing the manifold before doing so, to prevent shavings from falling inside....Or you can remove the throttle body and stick a vacuum cleaner hose inside the manifold to catch the shavings while you drill.

This part is mostly needed in cold countries plus without it the engine look cleaner.

It makes the engine bay look cleaner plus its not really necessary base on my location. It help with cold start to get the engine temp up.
