This seems to Bazar just to make a mould, In a software called Matter Control you can just create a box and import a model and insert into the inside and then cut the shape out from inside the box and cut the box in half and you have a two part mould in about 20 seconds is there the same way in FreeCad that you can just import a model and extract the shape from within another mode/mesh/object

In Freecad you'll want to look at the Clone (better for model in the same file) or Link (external model), and boolean tools to perform a comparable operation.
