Looks like when I connected the drum sequencer, my audio crapped out for the rest of the video. Sorry.

I have this on my phone just when my family thinks I'm sleeping and have finally stopped making beats for the days i can secretly get out the app and keep writing music instead of sleeping 😴

I'm not sure why people are always saying that Hexen sucks on Android phone. It don't. I have had Hexen on my Android LGK30 phone for years and I absolutely love it. Before I discovered Hexen, I was thinking about getting a Moog Mother and Sunharmonicon. But fortunately I discovered Hexen before dropping the cash on the Moog. Now, with that being said, let me just say that I don't make beats or traditional electronic house music. I'm a doomer that's into creating dark industrial dystopian soundscapes. Hexen is perfect for that! I have enhanced my set-up with three pieces of external hardware. I patch my phone into a Strymon BigSky, then patch that into a Strymon TimeLine, and then patch that into my Fender RUMBLE bass amp. Unfortunately, I don't have a PC or DAW, so since the original synth signal is actually leaving my phone, and going through my Strymon effects, I have no way of recording my soundscapes, so I just play live, in the privacy and comfort of my apartment, for my own personal enjoyment. Nonetheless, I must say that this little set-up is amazing, and I can create a self-generating patch and it'll just evolve over time. That way I can go hands-free, light up my pipe, and descend into the Matrix for hours and hours.

Cheers x1000 for doing a Hexen vid! It's my favorite modular app and well worth the cost. Now, you just need to do Koala next and you'll have completed the triforce! 😅

FINALLY brockhard, youre doing Hexen tutorials! Remember I was was the one that told you about Hexen, way back? I admit I haven't played with this one in awhile, it's very complex and the UI sucks on a phone... Been waiting to get an Android tablet mostly just to get back into this app, there's a few others only on Android that are awesome, G Stomper is a great synth and Drum machine.... Always love your vids Brock 👍

Yeah dude, you are one of my favorite tutorial guys, I watch you alot... You've become a near expert on modular!!! That's no small feat brother. I'm getting into your caustic modular tutorials again, cuz I'm using audiobus for ipad, so I can actually use all my music apps in my music, instead of just auv3 apps with GarageBand... I still record everything INTO GarageBand though, as it's the best host app. And I finally have an interface, so I can start putting audio from Android apps into my music, and there's alot-well no not a lot, but a few great ones on Android... These are what I like- Kaossilator Koala sampler G Stomper Rock Relay FM(DX7 app) Rock Relay Analog Rock Relay Bass Line(303 emulator) Lil Drum machine(perfect 808 drum machine) Electrum-sampler sequencer Shaper synth Best Machine by Vaytricks Acid-303/808 hybrid There's others but these are the most solid. And caustic of course! Keep up the tutorials man, they're great bro

This app is fantastic! I just wish I could use it on a PC, cause using it on a cell phone, sometime it sucks.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! ❤ I share your frustration with the interface, but it's so powerful! Makes such cool stuff with that touchpad and radio. I haven't tried that one (VCA or something?) but I hate working from a computer. This app seems worth the hassle of the interface.

Yeah, no problem. Sorry for the bad quality in the video and sound but the information sould be quite helpful.

It is so helpful! The acronyms and wiring was killing me, but between this and the Caustic lessons, I think I am ready to dive in and try again.

Are you playing this on a computer? Like the individual notes, are you playing them on a computer keyboard? It sucks trying to play melodies on the tiny touch piano keyboard in Hexen. I remember in your vids you had an Akai mpk MIDI controller, can you play Hexen notes on there? And fr, I loved your modular series, your documentary on the 808, you should do A LOT more documentaries, if you have the time... I especially want to research the difference between east coast(moog) and west coast(Buchla) synthesis... It seems to me that the eurorack format is definitely a child of the west coast synthesis, without using traditional keyboards, sequencers and random note generators, do you notice that? Like, in hardware eurorack setups or performances, you NEVER see a traditional keyboard-yet the hype point of modular, eurorack especially is "you can build WHATEVER kind of synth you want, you can do ANYTHING!" Except not hook up a keyboard to play notes and chords! With as much as I can tell you've learned man, I wonder if you have had any similar thoughts. Would be awesome if you could do another doc about modulars, seriously yours are some of the best... 👍
