This was a great video going over the works of Evola. All we need now is a video on AKC (Ananda Coomaraswamy), who is the other primary founder of the Traditionalist School is before it got hijacked by Schuon and became an imitation of Huxleyian Perennialism.

I read a lot of evola in my early days before I went back to reading Guenon and Schuon. I feel evola just caused me to go astray, especially with his approcah to modernity of riding the tiger. After, reading more Guenon, I decided to embrace Islam and allahamduliallah I've been Muslim now since the beginning of this year.

Excellent synopsis of Evola. I’ve spent years submerged in Evolas work. I’ve re-read and worked through so much of his thought and I see you have done Evola great justice in this video. Very insightful. I look forward to learning much from you. My best to you
@Praxius2 жыл бұрын
Great video as always. The way I see Evola in contrast to Guenon is that Guenon seems to deal with things in a very formulaic fashion, using terms which can be universally identifiable and understood regardless of which formal tradition one is a part of, whereas Evola seems to cherry pick terms and then references the associated principle as the [x] principle (the solar principle, the Olympic principle, etc.), but it also seems that Guenon was concerned with the ontological and timeless ordering of reality whereas I see Evola as more of a “travel guide for the Kali Yuga”. Both very necessary.

There are very useful observations. Thank you.
@Ashurbanipal7446 Жыл бұрын
I think this is true to a certain extent but we need not forget that each term means something specific or has a shared meaning with another term due to their common indo-European source. He likes so flip between latin, french, and greek terminology too but, since i can only assume he was a polyglot, it probably seemed normal to him. So when he says ‘x-principle’ as opposed to ‘that -principle’ its either to illicit a specific frame of reference to the reader or to elucidate the shared meaning as he was first and foremost a scholar in comparative religious studies.

@@SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad Unexpected in the sense that even for those who find Guénon fascinating will still shy way from Evola considering him "too controversial", also there is not much content - if any - from a Muslim perspective on Evola as he is more often invoked by Pagans and Hindus/Buddhists. Thank you for this video, professor. As someone who has been reading Guenon for several years and is now starting Evola, I find your thoughts especially useful. One point of advice: could you please ask the editor of your video to not edit out the natural pauses in your video? While this is a recent editing effect used by young and modern KZbinrs to keep the audience attentive, it feels out of place during an academic discussion. It makes the overall content feel rushed without adding much benefit.

Thanks for this video. I was directed to study Evola and Geunon, by 4chan. I was wondering if perhaps you had any insights about the writer Miguel Serrano? Also could you do a video about the nature of the Demiurge/archons as well as your opinion of how AI and spirituality could co-exist?
@SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad2 жыл бұрын
You are most welcome K Rel. Thank you for tuning in. Turning to your questions, I am familiar with Miguel Serrano, but only through what I have read about him online. I do not subscribe to the doctrine of esoteric Hitlerism espoused by him or figures such as Sāvitri Dēvī. If you wish to surf the kali yuga; to "ride the tiger" you must seek initiation. I am on record as having stated that the most accessible avenues for initiation in this dark age are to be found in Islam and that this religion is the most ideal one for the kali yuga. I know that many will not agree with me on this, but that is my view. If one seeks a purely "aryan" pathaccording to the true meaning of that term in Sanskrit, then the path of awakening taught by the Buddha may be an option for such people. In which case, please refer to the book of the smae name by Evola. I am not sure what exactly you mean by the term "demiurge.archoons". Perhaps you could clarify this term as well as your question on the coexistence of artificial intelligence and spirituality. In reference to the latter, there is plenty of AI implemented all around us, and there is still plenty of spirituality as well, so I am not really sure I understood your question.
@krel33582 жыл бұрын
@@SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad My question in regards to gnostic christians speaking about a Demiurge as well as Archons(rulers) who from what I have heard are comparible to the Djinns is Islam. In Miguel Serrano's writings he refers to the jews as being like organic robots and servants of this demiurge. I am just very curious in notions of consciousness and spirituality vs materialism in say what is the difference between say a computer that is capable of thinking and a biological lifeform. In Miguel Serrano's writings he also funnily enough espouses that Evola is superior to Geunon for some reason. I would keep in mind I ask these questions as a person who is a victim of MK ultra and cybernetic mind control which Miguel Serrano speaks about in his books in terms of converting aryans into slave golems for an AI messiah the Jews will seek to create. He wrote that in his book "Adolf Hitler Ultimate Avatar" which I have only been able to peruse through because of aforementioned attacks against me which stop me from reading. If you wish to further understand what I am speaking about you should familiarize yourself with videos and or books by Dr Robert Duncan and Dr James Giordano. As an educated man I think you should not ignore the dangers of weaponized neuroscience and AI and the real threat they present in terms of creating false spiritual experiences or using your beliefs against you which is a modality of hypergame theory. I can personally attest to this in the idea that the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is an allegory for brain science in that the two thieves he is alongside represent the pineal and pituitary glands. Remember that no matter how intelligent you might be you cant out think mind control technology.
@aesop14512 жыл бұрын
You should read Evola's 'Notes on the Third Reich.' National Socialism was eclectic. It had some Traditionalist aspects (like the SS as a modern Mannerbund similar to the medieval Knights Templar or the Teutonic Order). On the other hand, it was very Modernist (it espoused populism and materialist Darwinism). The question about the Demiurge and Archons has to do with metaphysics (beyond the physical). Serrano liked Evola to an extent, except Evola was not a big fan of Hitler. Evola used Japan from the Meiji Period until 1945 as an example of a traditional state that embraced technology, as a possibility for the West to emulate. I don't know what you mean by AI and spirituality co-existing. I think if the people are spiritually healthy (as was the case with Japan), then having technology is neither harmful nor beneficial. The problem with technology like mass media is that it perpetuates false narratives and caters to the lowest common denominator.

Dr. Ahmad, could you please make a video on Schuon? I read different articles about Schuon's alleged child molestation case. What I learned is that there was only one person who accused Schuon of that and that the kids themselves denied that it happened. The case was dropped because they didn't find the witness credible. In your other video with Shahbazi, you again seemed not to like Schuon, and you also kind of dismissed Hossein Nasr as simply a popularizer. I know Hossein Nasr was friends with Schuon and defended him against the claims that Schuon wasn't a "real" Muslim. It seems that you are not really a fan of these two traditionalists and I'm genuinely curious about why you feel that way since I've found their works interesting. Could you also talk about those allegations about Schuon because maybe I don't know the whole story? ( Obviously, if he really did what he is accused of I should change my mind about him) Thank you
