Been thinking of starting necrons as a second force where I bought the indomitus box and never did do anything with the necron Half. They seem fun.

A new combat Patrol is coming. Indomitus Overlord, Warriors/Scarabs, Skorpekh Destroyers, and Doomstalker. Aside from the Skorpekhs, it's all stuff that you're going to want. There currently are both a Combat and a Boarding Patrol, although they are both not exactly great. Combat contains the Scythe, which is currently terrible. Boarding might be your only source of Lychguard which are great. Naturally, you can still find the Combat Patrol in places. The Boarding Patrol appears to be super rare now.

I guess the boarding patrols were limited runs which is a shame as they were pretty solid sets all considered. You are quite right there is still a combat patrol available but we were referencing the new one that is still not out!! We want to see that new one on the shelves for the new players! It’s not the most optimal but it is a hell of a decent set of models!

@narrativecrusades707 I think I saw one of those Boarding Patrols in the wild before 10th dropped, and then it got snatched up. Really want some lychguard. My store still has the Combat Patrol, haha. If I had the money, I'd honestly just pick it up to get more Immortals/Deathmarks and Tomb Blades. I'm on the fence, though. I really wish that Scythe was not in the box and it was fifty bucks cheaper.

It must be diffrent for England, for usa command barge is 40 in your money, overlord is 20 pounds, and the lychguard are 55 pounds. The warriors are not to bad, but the rest are very expensive. Appreciate the video, its just amazing to see price difference

Yeah mate it’s crazy price wise over seas it’s costly enough over here yet it’s the “cheapest” in the world. Don’t look at Australia prices

The 10 immortals aren't much use nowadays, but as you mentioned that same box makes Deathmarks which are just may be our best DZ/Obj defending unit with its incredible ability.

Yeah every unit seems to have a place. Immortals are decent but deathmarks are scary. What’s your take on praetorians over the lychguard ?

This is a great help! I just bought the Illuminor Szeras.. was that a mistake? I thought I could do Illuminor + Warriors/Immortals... I bought most of the Indomintous set from a guy recently so that has been my starting point, plus I have a classic and more modern overlord! I think I can get a second hand barge! Fun army?

Pleased you enjoyed and thank you for the comment. Szeras doesn't join a unit, and is particularly good with warriors and immortals. So he works 'well' if you theme an army around him. Does that answer the question? Necrons have been on of my favourite armies to play. Once the collection is rolling, there is a lot of variety. Do you have a theme in mind?

I bought the combat patrol necrons but can't find the royal court would it be a good idea to buy the command starter?

If you’re after using the models then absolutely go for it, the royal court is somewhat gold dust. I’d say have you given the old eBay a search just to see if you can find a bargain

Great Video Just getting into the hobby just wondering how the math works on these at least the 1st 2 armies I'm seeing the Pt valuse exceeds 1000 pts. by 40 or 50 points not shy of 1000 by 20.

Appreciate the feedback. Sadly, this is a few points out now because every few month GW update points. At the moment, necrons are up in points. Give it a few months and they might be under. A little bit of drift in the 'normal". You looking at starting decimators?

Just started warhammer with my son a few months ago and picked up the necron combat patrol. Is the Christmas battle box worth snagging to expand my army?

I think it works out at 30ish % off. The void dragon, lych guard and overlord are good buys. Warriors range between amazing and useless. I think they are a bit below par currently. But who knows what the dataslate can bring. Having 40 in a collection is always good. You can also put 2handed weapons on the lychguard then stick the shields on their back and use them as whatever. Saves buying 40 over time.

It’s a hard one as both of these models are such good choices. Ultimately take anything you like the look of as Necrons don’t really have many bad choices!
