@@jurgenbussche you won't feel clipping, you will feel it if the force feedback is too strong of course, but you would need the force feedback meter to see if the clipping is occurring

Hi Tim, thanks, yes RaceRoom is good, I don't recall if you're console only, if you can get on PC then definitely try it out as it's free to try and all the paid content can allow be tested as I mentioned in the video. And share it with anyone who you think might be interested in it (and uses PC of course) as starting with it can be some what confusing, and the reason for the creation of the video :)

Haha! Yes for now I only have a console to play AC and Project Cars 2 but eventually I hope to get a PC just for racing. I use a Mac for my daily computer needs but I found your video interesting since I'm hoping to get a PC one day, and if/when I do I will have to load all of my favorite games onto it. You video will be very helpful to anyone in my position. BTW can't wait for your next podcast, I get so much enjoyment out of them, you and Mike do a fantastic job with those.

I'm not sure where your issue lies if you are just using a single screen setup? And in that case it might relate to "free look" (below) but I'm not sure. To begin I would try using another controller profile so load into the game with the default controls for your wheel, if there is a ready profile available for your wheel that is. Select controller profile Select edit assignments -Cameras --> many of the controls in "Cameras" apply only to replays driving view look left look right rear view toggle free look (this might be your issue but I think this is only for replays) zero free look center TrackIR (only relevant if you use head tracking) -VR reset position (only relevant if you use VR)

Not sure I follow you. When you start Steam using your own account and then start RaceRoom it should be using the currently signed in Steam account. Have you tried going to game.raceroom.com/store and signing in? Steam is based on Chrome browser and the in-game store view is the same as visiting the link above so try both methods (accessing the store through the game and through the website). In the My Documents folder on your PC there will be a SimBin folder where RaceRoom stores its user data, you could also try removing the relevant folders there before starting the game

Anyone have any idea how to change your name? Is it tied to Steam? Because I can't find a way to change it there either. I don't mean username, I mean your real name, which somehow appears in RaceRoom. I'm okay with this, but my name is not 100% correct, and I want to adjust it. Contacting devs has been a struggle as the only way (seemingly) to do so is through the forums, which is not my preferred way of getting help. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Where is settings? Nothing there i can see. The only thing i can find is options, but no way to get to the settings page to set up the wheel properly. So far pedals wont work and no way to even set them up as those are in the settings. Until i get an answer i will play AMS2. Dont need to waste a day to play that

Sounds like the controller profile isn't correctly loaded perhaps. Can you check that the currently selected controller profile (it appears as highlighted when selected) is the one for your wheel?

I've only driven the free stuff that Raceroom gives you at the beginning, but can someone please explain to me why not even 1 lap into a practice run I start hearing what sounds like a tire going down?? Then within 5 or 6 laps, the car is totally undrivable because of what seems and sounds and feels like a flat tire?? And when I pull over to the side of the road and pan around my car, all the tires look perfectly fine. Can someone explain this to me PLEASE?? I've driven pretty much every sim from GTR2 to the current ones and Raceroom is the only one that has this issue.

Hi, I get the point but I'm not exactly sure what you mean in terms of this title specifically. Have you tried checking if Tire Wear is on or off and also maybe post your question in the forums forum.sector3studios.com/index.php in case there's someone there who might recognise the issue you're referring to

my menu doesn't have the Primary and Secondary Functions tabs below controller Profiles. I have many hours with a G29 now i am using a Fanatec dd2 which works great on other sims

Hi, do you mean when you go to Settings > Control Settings where at the top is Controller Profiles that below that you do not see "Edit Assignments" and "Advanced Settings"? And in this case you would use those 2 options to edit the currently selected profile.

@@DavyJonesSimRacing Thanks for getting back to me. If I click on Controler Profiles I do have Edit Assignments and Advanced Settings but not Primary or Secondary Functions. In Advanced Settings the dd2 moves the sliders. When I double click on throttle, brake etc. for a tenth of a second it flashes any key then goes to ID:POU. There is no response when moving the peddles. Sometimes It will say control set duplicated down below. Any control or button says ID:POU. The G29 shows as missing but the dd2 shows as the selected Profile. I am using the dd2 on several other sim currently. Sorry for being so wordy but I'm trying to describe what I have going on. Thanks again.

I don't have any experience of a direct drive unit either Fanatec, AccuForce or SimuCube etc. Maybe post a question on the Sector3 Studios Forums or maybe look in the "Simbin" folder in your My Games folder in My Documents in Windows. There should be a controller profiles folder in there that you might consider backing up and then emptying to recreate your profile(s). I've seen the duplicate profile error you mentioned so yes I've had that happen to me before. On most cases the game should only be editing the currently selected profile...

Look in My Documents/My Games/SimBin (or I think that's what it's called) where the local user data and settings are stored. Back it up to save any controller profiles you have created and then delete the folder and try starting the game and then applying new settings.

There's a Real-time Chat function with defaults to the letter C key. I don't know if that's what you mean or hot keys for specific phrases and and things in chat which the game doesn't support as far as I'm aware

Not sure, GTX 1050 is a Pascal chipset card, indeed better than what I have. RaceRoom is still DirectX 9 so not a lot is needed but always start low and work upwards in terms of settings. Vehicle Reflections setting in RaceRoom can be an issue (the reflections of trackside items on the hood of the car) so set that to low. You'll have to find what works best for your system. Also too many opponents in a single player race can be a CPU resource issue, and in any title for that matter. So again start low and work upwards in terms of video settings as well. Motion Blur, Post Processing, Anti-aliasing are sometimes performance issues for any game so set low or turn off to see if that helps. And 1080p is a minimum these days so that resolution should not be an issue

Well... here's the thing, I've been able to get the dedicated server app started on one PC and then joined from another. 1. Right now both are on the same network but it should work externally as well. 2. It requires some messing around with routers where in my specific case one of them serves the internet connection using a public IP and the other connects the PCs and handles the port forwarding. Its just how my setup works, depending on your internet connection and router setup a single router might work. 3. And it would be preferable if you have one PC to start the server and another to connect to the server yourself to drive. If you can do the above I can maybe put something together on how to set it up...

Default appears to be 80%. Based on the control description it would be how quickly the control disengages when you release the control. Would depend on the pedal type in use and the car in use too I guess. You would need to just test it I suppose

Under "Gameplay" there is an "Input Meter" maybe try enabling that so you can see fast the pedal control disengages upon release based on the current release rate specified.

Sounds to me that you might be using the keyboard and mouse controller profile that the game auto installs. You would need to select your wheel profile as the current profile instead I assume. Refer to this quick image if it helps imgur.com/a/QVYPoTK

Can you try removing the mouse + keyboard profile? Your profiles should physically be stored in My Documents / My Games / Simbin so you can try and remove them from there as well. Although as long as the devices are connected the came will create a profile for them.

make sure your wheel is connected to the PC before you start the game. And if it does not appear use the detect device option which I think is there

Look in My Documents / My Games / SimBin folder for the user control profiles. Maybe clear out that folder and then try to go from the beginning with controller setup. Back up anything you want to save before doing so just in case

Sorry don't follow you, do you mean that when you use the brake pedal the wheel inputs don't work? That should not be happening. Have you somehow mixed up the inputs in the control settings?

Sorry why would you wish to use WASD keys, are you trying to drive with a keyboard? If you are then you will need to edit the settings of the keyboard as your list of controllers in the controller profiles list

There are some options assigned by default and many you can or need to assign yourself. Since the base game is free to play I would imagine there are many who have tried to play it with a controller. Like any game that is more simulation based its not optimal of course and realistically not the way its meant to be played...
