Thanks, Paul. You’ve got me convinced of giving it a try. I have used Launchbar for 1.5 year but I find it quite cumbersome to learn how to use the multiple features it offers. Raycast looks simple and intuitive. I look forward to trying this app. And certainly look forward to attending more of your videos.

As always great video. Question: I saw that you can add a new reminder in recast. That doesn't appear in my version. I can only launch the app. Did you install an extension ?

Nice video. I wonder which privacy and data rules Raycast follows. Will all data stay locally are does Raycast has full access to your calendar, files and uploads everything/parts of it? to their servers...?

I often take notes and store them within different apps, like Contacts or Photos, but I sometimes forget which app I used to save them. That’s why I rely on Spotlight to find these notes. However, Spotlight doesn’t fully meet my needs because some apps, like Evernote or Notion, are not integrated with it. My question is: in Raycast, is it possible to search for a word across multiple apps simultaneously, similar to how Spotlight works?
@minor-co15 күн бұрын
I haven't tried this myself but there may be extensions you can download that allow you to search across more apps. You can also set up custom searches for web services.

I have a question: When I type in my passwords for log in to - lets say - my bank accounts - are they too visible in the clipboard history?
@minor-co Жыл бұрын
They probably would be. However, if you use a password manager like 1Password, they come with settings which prevent passwords from being copied to your clipboard.

It's been a while now since I used Alfred. Yeah there probably is but I'm really enjoying Raycast
@rogue_carlisle61677 ай бұрын
frankly saying, things have been very easy to set up in Raycast for the most part. And it contains a lot of extensions. the free Alfred can be a very good lightweight search tool, for searching Mac, executing system commands, and saving quick links stuff for searching the internet, only that. you can use it if you feel Raycast is overwhelming. I haven't used the paid version of Alfred, I just explored the free version in sometime and removed it.

Its too confusing. And you have to type so much just to do one thing. I just uninstalled everything and just use spotlight now, so much simpler and doesn't disrupt my workflow. Also, Raycast is VC backed and not that secure. You know how they say, if its free you are the product.

Yeah, for some people, Spotlight (which is nice and simple) is best. I'm not concerned about their model, they have a paid option which I pay for.
