This is great, I always wanted to learn tmux but all the senior devs were too busy to teach me. Now I will be the one who will be too busy editing my config 😎

Great introductory video, perfect rhythm and it is very entertaining. Just a minor note (I think this part was lost on editing) there is no explanation or mention about the detach command (Ctrl+\ d) in the way presented it looks like magic :)

I watched a lot of Tmux videos this week, and this is #1 so concise and really shows the power of Tmux 11/10 Video man.

if you want more coconut oil in your .tmux.conf use `bind-key s { set-option status }` and see what happens.

Since earlier this year tmux supports XDG_CONFIG_HOME or you can place your config in ~/.config/tmux/tmux.conf without the need to set a env variable. github.com/tmux/tmux/blob/f87be8d0521436c47151233f781794dee94fc1df/Makefile.am#L16

Yeah, that was some neat stuff I could've used the first time I started it last week ^^ Especially the send-keys part is helpful as I have to enter commands to custom CLI inside a docker container. The only problem I have with tmux is the weird "drawing" behavior I experience on a remote ssh session, irrespective of the terminal I use. I'm fairly convinced, this has got something to do with tty / stty settings. I unfortunately cant afford too much trouble-shooting right now. It certainly looks smooth and easy on your machine :)

Do you use tmux on your client or in the container?

love the content! I always struggle to decide whether to use window managers or tmux. What are your thoughts?

personally, i use both tmux and i3wm together... for example, in workspace 1, tmux is running there... and workspace 2, web browser is running for docs and etc.

Basically it seems like a window manager for terminals. Why not just have a good tiling wm like i3 or sway? That way you can handle all your programs like this and don't have to memorize yet another set of keys just for the term. It's an honest question, I really don't get it 😊 I use tmux just for sending code from Vim to a term.

What's that file browser at 16:44? Looks like you type "V" and then get a very cool looking file browser that I now must have!

I believe I am using github.com/justinmk/vim-dirvish there. I've changed my file-explorers a couple times, but ended up with dirvish for speed.
