in a hypothetcal scenario. it's such a weird tangent to go on because he literally makes his music writing about other people. he might not mention them by name but he hints at it. and im trying to imagine a world in which he was with someone and they told him "quit the 1975" and how well that would go over. i've no idea why he fixated on that.
@austinlopez2500
@austinlopez2500 6 ай бұрын
@lejluminati4832 well the whole point at the end of that insightful conversation was to to enlighten this man that he can ahve balance in his life. The problem is that Caveh belives in a dogmatized system: there's only two choices. There's hardly ever only 2 choices in anything, things are not black and white. This false belief stops one from going down the middle road.
@lejluminati4832
@lejluminati4832 6 ай бұрын
@@austinlopez2500 i mean they were discussing ultimatums, in that the wife wanted caveh to simply quit and caveh did not. he has now i guess lol cause this series was weird and kind of of useless, but beside the point. it was very much a dogmatized system, and in that matty never said he could have both, he just poked into where caveh could be wrong and giving up his family for the show wasn't something matty would do. fair enough, but again, it's definitely a thought you get when you're stoned and full of empathy or whayever because matty just... wouldn't do that. when faced with compromising his art, he doesn't even apologize in broad stroked when he does one of his controversial stunts, let alone do i see him ever giving up his career because his wife wanted him to. i just wish caveh wasn't a complete wreck so he could have pushed back on some of this stuff and we could have gotten some discussion. cause everything matty said felt like the opposite of who he is in general and it was interesting to me. he values personal relationships above all it seems yet in his art expresses such callousness toward them. interesting.

I wish more people would think like you. educate yourself! and if you still don’t like him as a person, fair enough.. but immediately believing the tabloids and writing off an entire human being who is so complex is utter stupidity. people are multifaceted and are capable of so much, the internet forgets that sometimes, and pins people down to headlines.

@@kampdf19 While I do think Matty has fucked up majorly at times, it was mind blowing to realize how many people who support men who have raped or assaulted women try to act like Matty is the worst person alive. While his porn scandal disgusted me most overall, it also really opened my eyes to how scary the hive mind can be. So many people just saw others calling him a bad person and jumped in. No critical thought. Monkey see monkey do. Most people can’t even tell you exactly what he’s done wrong. Just “he’s racist, just trust me bro” That aside, you’re a liar if you can’t admit this man is above average intelligence despite his mistakes. His mind is impressive.

@@jennieguardian7094 absolutely! there’s only black and white now, grey no longer exists, when that’s where majority of humans live. also, just extra context in case you didn’t know: the host of that podcast did a video a couple months after the fact answering questions, and he mentioned that Matty wasn’t *actually* watching that specific porn. he just thought “GG” sounded funny together. obviously, still a very inappropriate joke, but not an honest one. and thanks for sharing your perspective! it’s nice to read

I felt really sad watching this. Matty came in excited to talk with Caveh and Caveh didn't ask Matty any questions. Caveh knew nothing about Matty and looked so disinterested. Matty was so vulnerable in this and any time Matty said anything, Caveh didn't know what he was talking about. Not sure why Caveh would even post this as it looks so bad on him. Caveh had the privilege of having an amazing artist on the podcast and somehow made the environment and vibes so awful.

I'm already a huge Matty fan but even more so now, I didn't think I could love him any more than I already did but I was wrong. The way he carries himself is so interesting, I know 34 isn't THAT young but it's almost half of Caveh's age and yet Matty's emotional intelligence is so matched to Caveh, it's cliché to say but he's really wise beyond his years he speaks so eloquently and has so much emotional maturity that he just baffles me to watch. It was actually so poignant too that they had a long discussion about values like work vs people, all the while Matty was concious of getting out to spend time with his Mum. The people who think Matty only cares about the show and commiting to the bit are so wrong and this whole video is proof. This is why I never get tired of Matty content, this is the side of him that people on tiktok don't see, they watch snappy 10 second videos of Matty taken out of context and think their opinion can outweigh someone who has watched hours worth of long, raw interviews with him. Truly one of the good ones, and such a shame people try and cancel him every week, they could never make me hate you Matty❤

Matty has spent so much time thinking and journaling I can just tell by the way he speaks. My advice to him: Spend as much time in the ‘real world’ as you can. Being such an introspective intellectual is a magnificent thing, but can be depressing and dangerous if it goes on for too long. This is where the “tortured artist” trope comes into play for many. Falling apart is indeed beautiful, but we have to be able to put ourselves back together at the of the epiphany for our own sanity.

its strange seeing him being presented as so nurturing and caring when juxtaposed to caveh. i suppose its also different from the version presented in the media or his own persona he projects online. im always justified in my respect for matty by the man and the morals i see when someone chooses to do a genuine, unbiased, interactive interview with him and im happy caveh has shown this. it goes to show anyone can control the person they are to other people but eventually, in videos like this, you can really tell where peoples interests lie. in this case we can see the genuine love and respect matty healy holds for other people not in spite of but including the presentation of his art. it reminds me of 'i never did understand the duality of art and reality'. not to mention hes just fucking hilarious.

If I was high and sitting across from this guy's energy I would be so uncomfortable. I'm so uncomfortable now - I can't imagine viscerally experiencing that. What Matthew said about understanding being underdeveloped in other areas, when you're really putting all your being into one thing is really telling. A couple years ago I realised and stopped idealising artists alone, as if they were bound to their art in a vacuum, and the quality of who they were and the consequences of that didn't matter. I started having heroes of actions and words, and looking to specific work to guide me rather than specific people. Even in terms of the friends I made and wanted, I realised even if someone was fascinating, intelligent, creative, inspiring - even if they were things I wanted to be - if they weren't also a good person, I didn't want to be around that. Or maybe that's immature, and we should try to help people be better rather than wanting to disengage. But at very least, I didn't want to admire that.

Yet it's also when we see these extremes in others, we have this lived example of what we don't want. Like a living warning. It can be ourselves or others. But knowing people you don't want to be like is often a massive short cut to pursuing and becoming something, only to then learn it's harmful. Although it's sad for the people who have to be the warnings.

What a perfect video! I wanted it to go on and on and just not stop! Watching Matty in conversation like this is pure pleasure, he is such a deeply intellectual guy and so totally natural and down to earth. Just one of my favourite people on this planet.

The way that matty conducts himself is facinating to me he thinks very similar to me and my natural outlook on life. Controversial but understandable. I'm glad he's well as with the other members

matty comes across as a really strongly empathetic person as if he has such a genuine interest in other people and their thoughts and their lives and seems so intent on actually communicating meaningfully with people. i understand that being charismatic is part of being a 'successful popstar' or whatever but his interactions with other people seem to be so purely human in a way that i think is really lacking in most interactions today. the nature of the internet means that interactions between humans have become so frequent and therefore necessarily short and shallow that the average interaction between two human beings lacks any consideration of the other person's being human. interactions being so fleeting means that people have had to develop a black and white checklist of criteria to bypass the stage where people would actually get to understand each other and it's lead to this really superficial space in between people that creates an undertone of judgement and mistrust of other people and their intentions. seeing conversations like these is a nice reminder to try and bring this sort of empathy and understanding into my own connections with people and that every human is necessarily unique, both in their identity and in their interactions

Caveh: “i mean it sounds right to say that people are more important than work. Like… that sounds right.” Matty: “no, it *feels* right.” Damn. That’s the difference between these two men in a nutshell. One has empathy and cares about other people. The other essentially only cares about himself. This was fascinating to watch. It was like watching a therapy session.
