John and Audrey, thank you for this awesome series on your Santa Fe! After trying to figure out the huge oill leak on my 2011 Hyundai Veracruz, I'm inclined of going your way and pull the 3.8L engine all the way out and then try to figure out and repair any leaing gasket on my 363,000+ mile (584,000+ km) engine! First I need to get a new car (the Veracruz has been my sole vehicle since new ), a strong enough hoist and a few parts! Cheers!! 💪💪👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏

Thanks for positive comment, a lot of times oil leaks are caused by the oil pressure switch on these motors. Glad to hear you found the videos helpful. Cheers from John and Audrey

Wow really good video. You're awesome ❤❤I'm looking for camshaft position sensor location. I have 2012 kia sedona lambda2 engine v6 3.5. Do you know where is it bank1 sensor? Thanks
@purecanadianlifestyle
@purecanadianlifestyle 8 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment, if your engine is the same as the Hyundai Santa fe the camshaft position sensors are accessed by removing the engine cover, there are four sensors two on each valve cover. BE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL before starting any work on the engine. Hope this helps, if you have any more questions let me know. Cheers from John and Audrey

Nice video! Found this very informative. 2008 Veracruz in my shop for chains, has a very bad rattle when running. I see the P/S pump stays on the block, good to know. Thanks!

Job nicely done! You are really tech savvy people. Speaking about engine hoist and stand - what is the weight of the 3.5 V6 engine? I'm thinking about time chain replacement so wonder which tools are appropriate for that.
@purecanadianlifestyle
@purecanadianlifestyle 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment, are you planning on taking the engine out to replace the timing chains? If you plan to take the engine out you will need some sort of hoist we don't know the exact weight of the engine but most definitely in the several hundreds pounds. You will need the appropriate tools to remove all of the bolts and pans to catch the fluids. Cheers from John and Audrey

@@purecanadianlifestyle Thanks for your quick response. I've noticed you set up your engine hoist to half ton in your video so that's a good enough hint for me already. Again, great job done!

@@purecanadianlifestyle that's the pulley above and to the right of the crankshaft? I'm having trouble figuring out which parts are where since I can't find any diagrams for the g6dc
@purecanadianlifestyle

@@rosukiii. If you watch the video at the 1.43 minute mark that is the pully that is being removed and is the tensioner of the drive belt, remember in the video the motor is upside down, so it is the pully closest to the crankshaft pully on the right. Hope this helps

Hello there! I've noticed something went a bit different in my case, so I'd appreciate to hear your opinion on that. When I removed the timing chain from the left pair of camshafts, the right one of those suddenly turned about 60 degrees counter clock wise when I unscrewed the top guide. I've tried to manually turn it back but felt some sort of springy resistance. I've checked twice that my crankshaft stayed on TDC, all three other camshafts did not move. Would you mind share your opinion about any reasons of that? Thanks in advance,
@purecanadianlifestyle
@purecanadianlifestyle 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment, are you sure all 4 cams were aligned properly along with the crankshaft? The springy resistance you felt on the camshaft was due to the springs on the valves. When reassembling you must be sure that all cams are aligned properly along with the crank at TDC to prevent any damage to the engine. Feel free to ask any more questions, if we can help, we will. Cheers from John and Audrey

That coolant pipe that runs through the valley, how is that removed?
@purecanadianlifestyle
@purecanadianlifestyle Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. First drain all coolant out, then remove upper engine plastics to have access to the intake so it can be removed to facilitate Removal and installation of the pipe. Then remove the pipe that circulates the coolant from the left and right head, after this is done you should have access to your pipe in the valley. Make sure you have a replacement O ring and gaskets for the re-installation. Hope this helps.Cheers from John and Audrey
