I'm really looking forward to punching into the rise so ore removal isn't as strenuous, I think total removal of ore was 3t ish last year 1t left behind removed at the start of this year then +4T this year along with supreme samples between 2 guys that's huge also their window of work is like 4 months at the most we got 7 episodes this season, tremendous effort from these TWO. Next season will bring its own issues once they punch through to the rise but will make extracting ore alot easier.

I thought that too just for a look but I doubt there's anything worthwhile in there just simply because there's no layers of minerals (yup its been blasted and would have moved a bunch) but from what we see from the vain there nothing there, what we do know is the vein pinches at that point and opens up closer to the rise

Very cool to get the old dude's stories and views. The better you understand the past, the more insight you get for the future. Such cool looking rock, let alone the metal values. You should talk to the guys who 3D mapped for Brent down in Cerro Gordo. A 3D rendering of the diggings, vein structure etc might be helpful for you, and fascinating as hell to the rest of us! Thanks for all the hard work. Awesome rocks! Can't wait to get mine processed. Still not happy with my mill, so gotta do something different. Good results for what I've processed tho. Out of the super fines and sands in the bags, I managed to scare up 1.7g. Pretty sure I blew plenty thru, will re-run a couple times to be sure!
@mattgraham198317 күн бұрын
Yeah that would be cool but expensive, poor Brent has had nothing but issues from his first map because they are so limited with time down there mind you the drone mapping would be absolutely sick to get into those hard to reach places for establishing weather it's worth clearing out the obstructions, you also have to keep in mind Mt Baker mine is really small compared to Cerro Gordo that is a freaking big ass mine😂

@mattgraham198318 күн бұрын
I think Jason said workable time is about 4months during the year, at the start of this season the deck at the mine entrance needed to be rebuilt and after every blast you have to wait at least 24hrs for the gasses to dissipate. Realistically I don't see these guys working the whole 4 months because everything about mining is fricking tough on the body so I wouldn't be suprised if they are only doing 4/5days max at a time and all totally weather dependent. How long do you think it would take to move 4+T of ore after seeing the process? 3days? 5days? Oh and also the start of this season they still had ore that was staged (about 1T) to be removed because the snow beat them last year Jason did that alone along with rebuilding the entrance deck. There is alot that doesn't get filmed because like the mucking out we see start and the end but that might take 2days and we see in the video 30 to 40 seconds giving the impression of a day or less.

@@alexdrockhound9497oh yes both these guys are stupidity busy, Harry has a great team behind him so taking time out for his normal operations to help Jason or should I say be partners with Jason is awesome, I often think people see this stuff and don't really understand how long the monotonous stuff like baring down, mucking out, bagging ore, removing ore takes. Let's be honest no one is doing to watch a video of just bagging ore or mucking out, what people want to see is progress and that is hard to capture while also showing how long it actually takes and that is the hard part and it seems Jason will give us a update on the progress during down time

@rogergriffin989318 күн бұрын
Priceless! Showing your process is helpful to anyone wanting to try to reopen a mine. I'm sure you will improve the loading process each year until you get the minimum time necessary to haul the ore out. How much is your total ore haul and gold production this year? Next year you'll get more ore with less waste. And each time something goes wrong, you learn and improve the process. I think it's beautiful that you found an old timer who worked there all the way back in the 1970s. I'll bet he's got some good tips. Maybe he can suggest some ways around any slips in the future. And you have ore waiting next year after you muck. But after all your hard work, you still have the fun anticipation of seeing what kind of gold you get. I can't wait to hear how much per ton you get.

Here's an idea to keep your bags from breaking on the slide. Install conveyor material in a loop on spindles top and bottom. The friction of the ore will drag and roll the conveyor down the slide and will eliminate tearing and spillage

Jason, kick butt as always.Your videos are so freaking awesome. I only wish I had known the season was over i would have tried to reach out to you. I would love to get my hands-on a 5 gallon bucket from muck mountain. A full of random sulfides so I could fire roast. Then ice shock after roasting the sulfides shatter the quartz, that's left.. And then process them with different chemicals, starting with H. C. L see what dropped out, plate It out on zinc, I think would be best. To see. what medals are in it as far as led tin softer ones. Then switch to diluted nitrate boils plate out on copper to check for. Silver and then plate what's left out onto iron to check for copper. And then it's aquarium time and let see how many gold molecules are hiding.
@silvaorgold17 күн бұрын
If you ever want to let me know, I'll buy the chemicals and videotape the whole thing I won't publish it on my KZbin till. I send it to you and you can edit it and do what you want with it. And if that means it never sees the light of day. That's perfectly fine. As far as I'm concerned, it would be your intellectual property. Nitric needs to go down in price. By the way, as of today. It's a $168 for a 2 l jug. Of 70% nitric, that's just crazy.

I got a tip get and use a bore cam to inspect the drill hole to look for potential problems
@mattgraham198317 күн бұрын
That really isn't going to help there's nothing a bore scope will show sure you might get an idea of what's going on but in all honesty its not until you blast you really find out what's going on. Just drilling the last blast they knew there was going to be issues because the drill bits kept getting clogged and would jam up a bore scope would just confirm what they already knew, the muddy water gushing out the holes was another indicator, then what? They need to go that direction to hit the rise so would be a waste of time for something that's already showing signs.
@aureaphilos17 күн бұрын
Could holes that reach the slip muck be stemmed first - to prevent blow-outs up the fracture - and also at the opening end? The idea is to trap the gasses inside the bore hole so they break rock, not break wind.

Hey Jason, for your "buoy system" pulley anchor could be attached to a bolt (or 2) in the ceiling/wall to make your anchor and belay even more comfortable and powerful. Mount a bolt directly above the chute so the pulley hangs over the hole at head to chest height. This will make your rope management easier and more comfortable with an improved angle. You could also use the "stemming" technique when your blast hole is open at the back or inside. Put in a stemming tube before the AMFO to plug the back of the hole. Love your show! And I have learned a lot from watching you. Thank you for all your content!
