The other good thing about recording to an audio track is it saves CPU if you have a lot of effects plugins on it. Thanks for looking after the poor cousins who have Lite and Intro! I find a lot of producer tutorials assume that you have at least Standard. But you can do plenty, even with the limitations.

Good video! 8 tracks seems like a tough limitation, but the upside is that you actually commit a track (resampling) in audio. Commit those tracks, instead of sitting and tweaking the effects for 8 hours. It's actually a good workflow and will get you out of the "just another tweak" mentality.

Awesome video on how to get the most out of lite. Instead of breaking the piggy bank, I want to give lite a try and your video definitely shows how to leverage its capabilities. I do own a focusrite 4i4 so bunch of freebies to enhance the DAW are readily available. Thanks a lot for this content!

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. You answered concerns related to only having 8 tracks to work with in Ableton lite. You know you're on a similar path if there are videos that address unfamiliar queries. Sometimes a straight forward answer from experience is what we need. Beyond tinkering and exploring, is it possible to produce a song with Ableton lite, or should I have my sights focused on Standard/Studio? Thank you

you can produce a full professional track on lite one Channel for drums 5 channels for the melodies/bass & 2 for fx but you must invest in plugins like waves (cheap and great) also izotope r giving a lot of free stuff every now and then,, also Ableton just updated to lite 11 with extra stuff check it out

Yes, you can produce with 8-16 tracks only. It reminds me of the early days of recording when people had 4-8 channels, and they found a way to be creative with their limitations. So, just be creative with the current limits.

I have a question according to the EQ. I have a Ableton Live 11 Intro and there is an EQ Three, and I know that for better effect we need EQ Eight, is the Blue Cat Tripple EQ an equivalent for this or where could I find something similar? Thank you for your feedback and for this great video!!
@shannonia81
@shannonia81 3 жыл бұрын
I also have Intro and I have 2 EQs that are free and more similar to what you can do with EQ 8. One is Nova (there's a free version which works really well) and the other is Reaq (it comes from the DAW Reaper, but you can use it in Ableton). Hope this helps :)

So you suggest buying these various plug in’s and subscription devices over upgrading Ableton to Standard or Suite? In essence it could come to a similar price, so I wanted to clarify as upgrading also removes the last barrier with layer limitations. Also, what service would you suggest for downtempo/deep house music?
@TheAudioJourney
@TheAudioJourney 3 жыл бұрын
Good question - if you have hundreds to spend, then it's probably best to upgrade to Suite since you'll have better audio effects and instruments than you get in Lite/Intro. I wanted to make you aware of the industry standard plug in suites so that you can weigh up your options. Soundtoys and FabFilter are definitely worth it later down the line (always wait for Black Friday!). I still think the Production Music Live sample packs will serve you well. Also, have a look on Sample Magic or other sites because artists will release sample packs, so for example, look out for an Eli & Fur sample pack etc.
@heathramsden4177
@heathramsden4177 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It’s a tough choice as it’s either upgrade Ableton or get Serum and some of the other items you suggested (eq, sample packs, etc), however I won’t be able to afford both at this time and don’t want to get stuck creative wise by picking the wrong option. Not sure if it helps but I got my lite version from a Novation Launchkey mkIII purchase

It would be pushing my budget to the limit to get Ableton Suite ($700 CAD) so definitely no more then that.
@TheAudioJourney
@TheAudioJourney 3 жыл бұрын
@@heathramsden4177 I'd say go for an Ableton Live Standard upgrade, pay monthly ($10 USD) for Serum and you'll be good for now. That gives you a chance to try Serum, and get some better effects like EQ, saturator etc in Live Standard.
