Your very welcome,glad it was able to help you in some way or another. To be honest I was very new to the hobby when I did this and was still learning...now I’d do the forward motor set up and be done with it but at the time of this video I wasn’t aware of all my options. My builds have come a long way since I built this Jeep. Thanks so much for watching I appreciate you checking it out. Take care. 👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks for the share! I have the SCX10 II Raw Builders Kit and waitimg for the Xtra Speed body. How can I move the transmission forward? There’s no videos out there. Or which possibilities do I have? Which transmission should I purchase for the Builders Kit?
@ricksscalerc22224 жыл бұрын
Robert Adamecz Thank you sir,, appreciate you stopping by to check it out. I was pretty new to the hobby when I built this so I just made it work with what I had,, but if I could do it over again I’d get a 5:1 gear reduction unit to bolt up to the stock motor and mount it up front between the front shock hoops and run a driveshaft to a divorced transfer case. There’s quite a few different options just do some research check out GCM racing, and go to rc4wd website and check them out. They both offer a scale looking transmission with attached transfer case that’ll also bolt right in. Hope some of this helps you out. If not feel free to ask questions I’ll help anyway I can. Also if you go to my channel and check out the Brute build you’ll see the gear reduction unit with divorced transfer case set up I used for that build. Goodluck

Ricks Scale RC I did research and I see the SSD00403 could do the job but in the description stays that I need some offset axel in the front to match this to my chassis but not which one.. Could you tell me which one and what other products do I need to complete this build? Will my 550motor fit? Big thanks!

Now you know can make it work thats why i bought one 25 year in this hobby but never did a hard body looking for the challenge

I know your frustration well, bro. Nothing ever just fits. But, you trimmed the interior nicely and it won't be visable once the driver is in. Nice work, thumbs up bro!

Thanks Chris,yeah this was a while ago,i think now knowing what i know i would have put a forward motor mount set up in it and i still might but we live and learn.the new brute build is gonna get a forward motor set up.thanks for watching bud👍👍

Awesome body, is this a Version 1 or version 2 xtra speed hard body? I have an scx10ii rtr and just ordered the version 2. I’m hoping they fixed the fit issues on the version 2.
@ricksscalerc22224 жыл бұрын
Thank you, and thanks for watching. I’m honestly not sure if any changes have been made to the body for better fitment. I do know that if you switch to a more scale forward motor set up it’ll make your life a lot easier and fit way better. If your gonna run the stock transmission/transfer case your gonna have some clearance issues you’ll need to figure out. Good luck with it. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

Great video thank you. So this fits easier onto the kit version?
@ricksscalerc22226 жыл бұрын
Experience RC thank you! Yeah the kit version has a different more low profile trans so from what i understand this body does sit right down with some trimming of the battery tray ive been told,havent had that experience first hand so cant say for sure.i got it sitting down on the frame now and im happy with results,thanks for watching.

That's what I was worried about man. That's why I ask was you going doing a video on the install. As far as the spur gear... many rc's don't even come with one so that shouldn't be a big issue. Thanks for getting this video out so fast. Great info👍
@ricksscalerc22226 жыл бұрын
RC VOODOO yeah thats what i was thinkin especially all the forward motor mount kits, none of them come with the spur gear cover so im thinking i might just leave it out.dont be discouraged though its really not that bad,the jeeps detail is worth the extra work.and i have the body sitting on the bumpers so thats plenty low enough im happy with it.got more coming soon!thanks for watching voodoo.
@RCVOODOO6 жыл бұрын
Ricks Scale RC no problem. Yes the detail makes it worth the frustration. Kingston is doing another hard body jeep and I absolutely love his red one
@tacticalrenegade3276 жыл бұрын
So would it be better to buy the kit instead of the rtr
@ricksscalerc22226 жыл бұрын
yes from what ive been told the kit version has a lower longer transmission with provision for the 2speed and the body fits down on that better.or you could get a forward motor mount set up for it,im still fairly new to the hobby so im still learning..im doing a Jeep Tj Brute build now with a forward motor set up and that makes things alot easier.thanks for checking out my video.👍👍
@jetskijnky26 жыл бұрын
Wow....i got the same hardbody for mine but just made cut outs in the bottom of the body floor, rather than cutting the housing on the gears. you don't notice it at all once its sitting on the frame. I agree though they should note that this wont fit the SCX10ii drive train without modifications.
@ricksscalerc22226 жыл бұрын
Amanda Kahler thank you for watching and thank you for commenting.yeah i did end up cutting more out of the floor to get a better lower center of gravity and glad i did cause now it handles and hugs the ground very well.i didnt mind cutting the transfer case since i do plan on running a forward mount motor setup eventually but that just wasnt in the budget at the time.cant wait to build another one!.thanks again

Thanks for posting this, I've got 2 of these to build, and yep 2 scx10 ii chassis... Bought a TFL front motor mount for another build that would work for this but can't afford 2 more of them!!! I'll send pics when i get to them. Keep up the great work!

Thank for the trimming video and your previous answers! I did the same what you have done and I love it as a first Scaler! Thank you! I wish I could show how it looks. Maybe next year I‘ll start with an RC4WD..but I like this Axial with the Jeep with your ideas! Now I have an other problem. The motor Hobbywing AXE 3300KV. The motor gives full power I think but when it is on the ground and I give full „gas“ it hardly moves. I checked the App, everything matches but the car dont want climb up the rocks etc.. google doesnt help. Im in trouble since last week🥵

Man I just one from Injora, it says it's for Scx10, and the dam thing doesn't fit without major mods I tried it on Gen7, Gen 8, Scx10, when are these guys going make body that fits properly. Mine sitting high but I guess I'll call it a monster truck build really bummed no more Injora for me. From now on I'll stick to the 3d printed bodies they fit nicer. thanks for sharing your experience 👍🙏🏜
@ricksscalerc22223 жыл бұрын
You got it man. With a little work they do fit nice. You can always do a forward motor set up also that helps a lot. But with a little trimming it can work. If you have any questions let me know. Thanks for watching.

@ricksscalerc22226 жыл бұрын
The chassis is the 2017 scx10 2 jeep crc rtr.the body will work perfect with any chassis that has a forward motor set up,if it has the motor and trans in the middle the body will need to be clearanced like mine.thanks for checking it out.

Ricks Scale RC I don't like the cutting the transmission thing. Looks like a place to get crap in the gears in deep water or mud. If I do this mod, I will chop interior and figure out how to patch that up
@ricksscalerc22226 жыл бұрын
BullgearRC videos i was thinking that to,but didnt wanna take away to much detail from the interior and most trucks dont even come with spur gear covers,and none of the custom forward motor mounts use them,and most aftermarket aluminum covers are more like big open cages,so i dont think its too big of a deal to have cut it,i do agree it does leave it open and vulnerable.but i dont do to much water and deep mud runs so im willing to gamble..guess we will find out..

I WOULD say, "Welcome to RC, beyond the RTR"..... But in this case, even though experience tells me that it wouldn't be a direct drop on, they SHOULD have specified that it ONLY fits the Kit Version Gearbox!! 😫😬 THAT part's not right. A couple of notes though about the Kit Transmission.... The Motor and Spur sit lower, for lower CG, and - that Transmission Case has a more Scale looking Transfer Case, hanging down lower than any of their other versions! AND, should you be interested... The Kit Transmission Case was Designed so that a 2-Speed Conversion fits completely inside that Case! So you wouldn't have to worry about what else won't fit, should you want to go that route. Thanks for the heads up though! Sorry you had to find out the really hard way. But great job figuring out how to work around it!! 👍👍😎 I've never bought a RTR.... I am interested in this Body. At least I KNOW now, and can pass on that this needs the Kit Version SCX10 II. .... I'm guessing that it would also work on a SCX10 One, with the II Kit Transmission - or front mounted Transmission. The first SCX10 comes with Axle mounted Servo, SAME Body Post locations and surprisingly - the SAME Transmission that you have, in your RTR!!! 😱 This Old Fart actually learned Quite a bit today! Thanks for that. Carmine 💥 ⛽
@ricksscalerc22226 жыл бұрын
thank you very much,glad you were able to learn something from this.yeah being fairly new to hobby im learning alot as i go.i have a few friends with the same body and the kit version and theres went together fairly easy,my rtr needed a little more persuading but i got it fitting pretty nice now.i would definetly order another one of these bodies but next time im gonna do a forward motor mount setup with a seperate aftermarket transfer case.big thank you for watching.👍👍
@CarminesRCTipsandTricks6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Forward Motor would be best anyway, for fit, and better Performance on the Rocks. The Battery should be able to be mounted Sideways, either where the Frame Rails dip down near the front, or behind - under the back seat.

it was never meant to be installed out of the box a direct fit, it really needs heavy modification. all the JK bodies are like that on an axial scx10 v1 or v2, regardless if it is the kit version. you need something like a toyzuki motor mount and transfer case to make it really fit nicely with minor mods. pls stop venting on your videos about this jk body. you should have done proper research before taking the plunge.
@ricksscalerc22226 жыл бұрын
Well as you can see its mounted just fine leaving the motor and trans in the stock location.and if you watch the running video you'll see its even lower now still with the motor and trans in stock location.im also not venting just explaining to people whats going on.thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. It is also recommended for a scx10 2 kit version because it has the longer lower transmission with the provisions for the 2speed,which is why the jeep body fits those better with just some battery tray trimming.
@vlozity6 жыл бұрын
its great to see a different person, open minded, courteous and caring. i actually like your build, i am thinking of getting one soon (for my scx10.2 kit version with a flipped tranny). i have the shorter wheelbase 2 door jk installed on my class 1 3Racing EX-Real rig (also not a perfect fit but moded to fit). i am looking forward to see any videos you churn out on this body... i really like it, keep it up!
