If i can give you one advise. Please open the hole you closed in the bottom of your fuel tank and make a drain of it. It may happen that condensate (water) wil form in your tank. With this drain at the bottom of your tank, you can drain the condensate. This will prevent water being sucked into the engine, which will cause further issues.
@lutomson34962 жыл бұрын
I agree he just made the problem worse with no drain
@herpderp2642 жыл бұрын
My biggest issues is he's going to have one HELL of a time priming that fuel system.

You may already know this but if one replaces engine mounts on a boat engine you have to perform a very detailed alignment process on the propeller shaft where it couples to the transmission so there won’t be stress on the prop shaft where it passes through the cutlass bearing and shaft log caused by a very very slight misalignment of the shaft! The adjustments are done on the new engine mounts and use a feeler gauge on the coupler!

Enjoyed this session. You might want to consider making arrangements for extra filtering of the fuel. Diesel love and need clean fuel. Installing a small fuel pump and extra filters that can be used when it is not in operation might be considered. This would be a process of "polishing the fuel". Love your work.

Hello my German friend, You always surprise me with the craftsmanship of your work. You really know how to refit old items including a complete boat. The most amazing for me is that you do it all alone. I therefore have a lot of respect for your skills. Wish you lots of success with the rest of the refit and send you love from the Netherlands

Very good work as always! A couple of things regarding the AC stuff, the outlets really need to go into back boxes, and the MCBs really need an enclosure as well. The idea is that any copper is either in a box, or covered by two layers of insulation. The boxes also provide strain relief in case something tugs on a cable. Wiska makes really good junction boxes in case you need to splice or junction a wire.

If you are putting appliances on the counter, you need to find a way to secure them. Otherwise, first storm and they are sliding off. You could break the appliances or worse yet, they could fall on someone. I've been on more than a boat for a few storms so that lesson sticks with me.

@markdallman9002 жыл бұрын
Oops let me finish. .......below the suction pipe so you can remove any water from the tank. Maybe a threaded plug on top of the tank that you could remove, and insert a tube to suction any water that may be in the tank. When I was an engineer on tugboats the fuel tanks had bottom drains to remove water from the fuel tank. There is a paste called “kolor kut “ that is brown but when it touches water it turns red. Put some on a stick and insert it through the top access to the bottom of tank. Pull it out and if it’s still brown then no water. If you find water stick a small tube down and suck it out.
