I've done window cleaning in Ireland for 4 years sporadically, and am starting here in Canada again....and I'm kinda nervous about using the term 'Professional' - not sure why...I've never had complaints about my work...just some weird mental block I suppose LOL

I do believe it has a lot to do with your mental attitude I don't say anything when canvassing apart from morning/afternoon do you need a window cleaner I am always friendly though and been doing this 26 years and i think it is the friendly confident attitude that works I know miserable cleaners round here that have a script etc to work from but their depressed attitude i think is what loses them the job Once i have asked sometimes it develops in to a good conversation and i am there ages but i do like to have a good chat

Do you take the big black leather wallet with you when you canvass? I’m just looking at from the customer point of view. If I looked out the window and someone holding that I would instantly think ‘Salesman’ and wouldn’t even open the door. Good tips though 👍🏼

Hey Trad, I've cleaned off and on for over 25 years, but I have never run my own business. Can you tell me how to get insured? I know what I'm doing but getting customers without being insured is very difficult. I am looking to start my business and leave the corporate world. I'm in the States if that makes a difference, so anybody with any advice would be more than welcomed to chime in.

XxsteamerxX cool great stuff. well what we did was search online for business insurance. We used comparison sites to get a good deal. best bet for yourself cuz your in the states is contact Luke the window cleaner here on KZbin he can help more as he lives in the states

When i moved from London to Hertfordshire i started again and built 80% i reckon from facebook If you do it right and find the right community groups it can be a goldmine Leaflets have stopped working round here due to the amount of leaflets posted daily Some days i have around 8 or 9 leaflets through my door and they end up getting binned not looked at

Great video! It will help many people. P.s cleaned a fb customers house today inside and out and used the fliq pad. Thought i did an amazing job on the 2nd floor with a pole... when i did the inside there were marks where the soap started drying and a few squeegee lines so I had to detail from the inside. NOT GIVING UP but it is soul destroying ahah

Kye Horton thanks m8! yeah just keep practicing with it you will get to know what manoeuvres you can and can't make on the window, what moves leave lines and what doesn't ;)
