@@Skyrem-dm7hj my Beagle/JRT mix has the energy of 5 dogs. I'd walk her with the other dog, put the other dog in, then get the bike out and go with her running beside me around the block - are you done yet!?! Hope that helps. My bike has the brakes on the pedals and very few distractions in the neighborhood though. Some recommended the springer on the right side of the bike since bikes go with traffic. We had a quiet neighborhood that was only entered if you live there though.

After my guys eat supper, it's time to settle pronounced SET TLE. They have to park it in their beds. Park it for us is sit or down, just no moving. I give them a choice - their chair or baby gated in the kitchen - your choice. I tell them that too. They learn very quickly oh yeah, I 'd rather be in the same room as you guys and watching movies then just able to see you from a distance in the kitchen. You have to get out of your chair and reinforce the fact that they're going in the kitchen or they won't believe you. Just takes one initial follow through and they know you're serious. You're not mean or punishing, it's their choice - NP, you can be in the kitchen if you'd rather. Let me know when you're ready to settle and we'll try it again. And don't go to them when they're carrying on or they'll think that's what they need to do to get what they want. When they're quiet, Are you ready to SET TLE? Hope that helps.

@turtleandjava4 жыл бұрын
I would never recommend buying from a puppy mill, it just encourages them to breed the dogs more.. the dogs will be unhealthy and have personality issues. It’s supporting the people who run the puppy mill! Lots of puppies die if coming from puppy mills.
@ibbyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy4 жыл бұрын
Melissa Butler wait what? I never knew that. The people we’re getting him from seem super bad and it’s obvious that they’re abusing the dogs there so we are trying to save him. We paid triple the amount of money that they asked for so we can save him

Aditya Shetty You are supporting a puppy mill, you are give them lots of money for a sick unhealthy dog. Your encouraging them to breed more. A better way to save puppies and older dogs from puppy mills is sending animal control to come save _all_ of the animals. Or animal rescues near you.

Very small puppy figured out that if he brings me the ball I have something else to throw. 😁😁😁😁 Good luck!!

Thank you Rachel. We have a 7 month old golden doodle. High energy for sure. We are in our 70’s and the spring mud has caused a lot of stress in our marriage.😞 Missy is a digger as well. White face is black and paws up to her knees so every time she goes out it’s a nightmare. She has three 45 minute walks a day. We do some training but perhaps not enough. I’m thinking she has to be always exhausted so she will nap and not destroy the yard. Any suggestions.
@robinrutherfordcost47482 жыл бұрын
My neighbor put her dog's digging on command/cue. The dog now only digs when she needs a hole dug to plant flowers. Had a Greyhound that would dig to keep cool. Gave him his own spot in the shade, buried bones if needed. Just like with furniture, every time he'd go to the wrong spot, we'd take him to his spot. Lots of praise for digging in his area. Frozen Marrow bones from the butcher with the hole of the bone either large enough that he can't get it stuck around his lower jaw or small enough that it's not an issue. Check with your vet first as some dogs are too young and vets aren't a fan until their adult teeth are in. We are always out with our dogs to keep an eye on them though. People steel unattended dogs for pit bull fighting rings and/or doggie research so be careful. Hope that helps.

Hi Rachel, thanks for your video. I hope you could help. My son just got an Aussie, he is now 3 months old, and after his walk, early in the morning or late in the evening, when he enter home he starts to bark, run and nip. We ignore him trying to stop his behavior, but this takes time and, at 6 am or at 23 pm, we just need him to stop in order to avoid problems within the condominium. What can we do? Any suggestion? Thanks. Ciao from Italy

Yes! But my dog is a puppy and I don't want to overwhelm it.it's also not ready to go for walks are there any alternatives?

Omolara Ogundimu indoor or backyard little walks for leash training are a great alternative! Used these techniques when my pup was only 2 months and did just fine. Be sure to take breaks as needed and I’m sure you’ll do pawesome!

I think everybody needs to start from somewhere and level up step by step

Since puppies naturally follow, I took my puppy around and around my yard, praising him and giving him treats. So by the time he had his shots, walking on the leash wasn't an issue because he was used to following me around. 😊

You have great instinct. As pet parents, we have to be our dog's advocate and do what's best. Should I make an indoor/night routine video on how to tire out your dog?
