As a male I have only been in stirrups once and I found it humiliating degrading and embarrassing don’t know how women can do it in a regular basis

Some of us choose to never do it at all because of the reasons you mentioned plus sometimes it hurts.

I got my first one in October. Speculum didn’t hurt, which was my main worry. Results came back normal.

Really don’t wanna get this done, but I have a cyst that needs to be drained, and my Doctor will probably give me a Pap Smear and Pelvic Exam, anyway. I am sexually active, and we haven’t always used condoms. I am on Birth Control, neither of us have any STIs. I have never ever had a Pelvic Exam or Pap Smear and I am 28 years old. I first had sex in March of this year. The Speculum is what causes me anxiety. I’m worried it will hurt when it’s opened all the way.
