I have been promising a video of what Downtown Gettysburg PA looks like at night and show you some of the highlights of this fabulous Civil War Town. Gettysburg Pennsylvania has so much history and casualty making this a great town to visit. Because of its history there are many ghost tours available when staying in Gettysburg. And there are also some great restaurants and ice cream shops to visit in Gettysburg too. Don't miss my other Gettysburg tours linked below.

I have to tell you what I witnessed back in '92. At the time I was a reenactor in Gettysburg for the July 1-3 battle. At that time, reenactors were not allowed to carry firearms, powder, caps or bullets on the batlelfield. I snuck onto Big Roundtop (next to Little Roundtop which I knew would be patrolled) with nothing more than a gum blanket to sleep on. At daybreak, I awoke to the sound of hollered commands and worked my way to view the Slaughter Pen below. There was a regiment of Confederate soldiers in perfect battle line of two approaching Devil's Den. I was startled by the reenactors who had rifles with bayonets at the ready while gunfire and canon reports then came from the peak above Devil's Den. I thought they were in big trouble with the park rangers who even back then had night vision binoculars. As a mist descended, all was quiet and the reenactors disappeared. Later, I went to the Cyclorama to congratulate the staff on their stunning daybreak display. They looked at me as if I had two heads but as I left a ranger quietly approached me , smiled and said, "So you saw them too. Welcome to Gettysburg".

Gettysburg is my favorite city in Pennsylvania. I live about 21/2 hours west but usually made 4-5 trips a year. We went on many ghost tours and ghost stories in the cellar of The Farnsworth House and a haunted B&B but never experienced anything paranormal. Jenny Wade House in the basement was a bit chilly and eerie. Recently my family surprised me for my birthday and the dinner was in the cellar at The Dobbin’s house. Ambiance was cozy and lite by candlelight but it was crowded and very noisy that we couldn’t engage in conversation. Ernie’s Hotdogs is a must try. Twice our van wouldn’t start after turning off the car. Relatives from York had to get us a battery. We still go back to Devil’s Den but leave the van running! So sacred and hallow National Park.

Saxx bridge is alot better to ghost hunt when a bunch of people are not on the bridge all at once they tend to pack the bridge when it gets dark, so visit early in the day when it's less crowded. Less people the better it is, i know from personal experience! You will be surprised what you will encounter during the day with the right equipment none heavy things im referring to.

I used to live in G'burg and the footage you got of down town with everyone is making me home sick LOL i'll be there for the 160th so be walking them streets very soon. My go too place when i got off duty would be Sweeney Tavern for dinner & drinks it took about 4 months before the staff stopped calling me a "Transplanted Yankee" the beer garden is a great place to be the Bangers & Mash are a must try. you think thoses lines r bad wait till the 160th lol all the restraunts along the main stripes will be busy so it's worth hitting the 1's a little farther out or try to get in early, also parking with be tough. 5:50 mark back in the day that was Ace's High a art shop for WW1 & WW2 aircraft ect... get owners we would do WW1 & WW2 display on the porch. 5:58 mark used too be a Book store & toy soldiers figures and dummy weapons. had lots of great stuff and fit the town, the new store not soo much some times change isn't good. Dobin House is great and the Gift shop is a must hit (Get the Bacon Jam) the Tavern is great we used to Bar Hop in kit and hang our rifles on the coat rack and drink and sing by the fire place 10:51 mark We ate here last sept during WW2 Weekend we came in very late (and tipsy) but they still hooked us up with some great food and the staff esp the cooks were great. 11:05 mark Iwatched that place burn down back in the day they did a great job on the rebuild and they have been going strong. we tried to get in last july but it was almost a 40 min wait. 11:20 mark REAL NICE BAR deff have to have at least 1 drink there lol OMG the # of meals at the dinner at all hours 12:34 mark Yup , spent alot of time here saw many things, it's not part of the NPS so it doesn't close so you can go here anytime, they cleared alot of brush on the side toward the water treatment plant (used to have many reports of shadow figures that way. it makes it tough when there r so many people so the later the better. the boddies were hung in the Center of the bridge 2 on the left 1 on the right. if you ever get to see images of them the faces, hands and feet tend to have a bluish color (they most likely took there shoes, feet and hands appear tied) the body's more just a dark outline. But other areas worth exploring at dusk Devil's Den , Spangler Spring , Culp's Hill but the park rangers will kick you out , the Eternal Peace Flame is another amazing spot. with reports of soldiers in the tree line behind the monument (also great sunset from that spot)

Local owned tour companies are holding the fort against corporations that just moved in. Corporates don't have private locations or their own stories, they take from everyone else! Ghost City, US Ghost adventures, Civil war ghost stories, History and Haunts, and US Ghost walks. Gettysburg Ghost tours (the most walking locations) Gettysburg Paranormal Assoc. (The first indoor offered locations, the MOST locations) Ghostly Images (Jenny Wade house and Orphanage ownership) Farnsworth Inn (top 20 most haunted Inns, indoor and outdoor locations) Ghost of Gettysburg (Famous Author tours, Nesbit) Haunted Gettysburg is not a famous tour, they have the same offers as small sidewalk tours. They have held on for a long time, sweetest tour guide, The priest! If you pay any tour to go to the Grove, Sachs bridge, or John Eisenhower bridge; It's a waste, those are public spaces. I am a tour guide of 10+ years in Gettysburg. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk :)
