Another possibility to consider is "affirmative action". Asian women are popular choice for news casters for whatever reason, so much so that just about every self-respecting station has at least one. Would you have been casted if you were an Asian man with same credential? Possible, but the statistical disparity tells me that there are conscious/unconscious bias there.
