I tie a similar one but I add a little cdc under the deer hair wing. I feel like it makes it slightly more buoyant and adds a little more buggy look. Great video, love your content!

Good idea, yeah I love cdc also. Another way I’ve seen also is some flash under the wing.

Great tie...will this hold up a heavily weighted size 16 perdigon on a dry dropper rig?

It could, how heavy and what size are you tying the hopper? I think there are variables here that would make it hard to confirm yea or no. I know I have decent luck with it holding up some tungsten jig flies. But I generally tie with smaller beads and usually a large size like 12 when doing that for my local waters.

@@McFlyAngler Ill be using a size 12 hopper.The perdigon will be a #14 hook paired with a 3.5mm tungsten bead

I suspect it would. Although 3.5 is rather large, I think it will do just fine. Make sure to add floatant to the fly. Most people don’t to foam flies thinking it’s not needed. They can still get waterlogged. I believe in fast moving water or anything turbulent it might sink, but not in still water. Hope that helps. Give it a try and let me know how it does for you.

You have some of the best tieing vids onthe tube. I can't find many carp flies. Could you tie flies like the Mays identity crisis ,Headstand fly,Skulpin bugger,Carp n crunch. I can't find vids on them
