Exactly. These stylists are really bad, they only care for one body type. If you are skinny you get the best clothes. If not your body is covered up, often with ugly clothes. Also, Gfriend had matching outfits, which were not suitable for every member's body type.

@Demogorgon trust me if you see most of their diet plan,I've seen and tried most of their diet plan which I stopped . it's not healthy for an adult who needs aleast 1500 to 2000calories to function daily but their diet make them eat about500calories which is very low for an adult.which ever way tho.

After losing 10 kilos, I look totally different. My face looks smaller and especially my chin is more visible. I lost the chubby cheeks. My clothes size went from L to S. Some of my friends could not recognize me. I believe that she got more beautiful thank to diet not plastic surgery.

True. During the ages 16-18 I weight over 65 kg. Started loosing weight by 19 and got rid of all my baby fat before becoming 20. By then I weight 54 kg. All my friends said I looked prettier but my family disapproved but I like the slimmer me now. That feeling you could finally wear those cute clothes it was worth it.

Since her debut, she has one of the most beautiful bodies I have ever seen in the Kpop industry. Let's be honest, unless you have naturally a skinny complexion due to fast metabolism, etc... (i.e. Sowon or Yuju), It is absolutely normal to store fat because we are women, with hormonal ups and downs. The important is to have healthy food habits and to workout at least 3 hours per week. Following any of the multiple unhealthy diets idols are forced to follow (just for showing skinny shapes and that most of the time are pretty dangerous and may lead to several problems such anorexia and bulimia) is just insane. Please, do not contribute to criticize people (in general, not just idols, but in particular women. Why are we always putting the focus on how women look but we do not do it on men? ) for their appearance. We do not know what is inside of their minds, if they are having a bad time or just don't feel comfortable with himself. I am happy to see Umji smile more often, she has become into a beautiful and smart woman.

Yeah At 12:16 it doesn't look like she gained weight in a bad way, but just went through puberty. Her face during love whisper and summer rain era looked slimmer than it did in fingertip. When I went through puberty/grew up. It's like my cheek bones got higher or something, my face became more defined. I actually miss her when she was at her heaviest and also with her "worse" styling. She didn't look like a stick like most idols at the time. I was appealed by netizens (both from forums and knetz) attacking her. All of them had to eat their ugly words! Ahh this is an old video but I’ve been Umji’s fan nearly since debut so I was curious... She was my favorite from the first Gfriend videos I watched in 2015. But I suppose I know I don’t like “typical” visual types haha. It’s been really really hard being her fan and watching her be so self-deprecating and shy. She even for a while gave herself the nickname “baby goblin.” I found it charming but since she was only 16-17 saying it, it’s really sad TT She really was just a baby, apologizing at fansigns when people said they got her photocard and such. Then, in Rough, the only thing I didn't like was the bangs... that type of bangs didn't suit her, but still she was a cute girl. She was young and the more she grow up, the more she will change. the reason why she was able to keep off the weight was that she was a teenager at the time of debut and they tend to loose weight much faster and easier. but as people grow older, it becomes a bit harder as their metabolism slows down, it's not even that big of a deal because even now she's skinny and healthy.

what pains me the most is that she was a teenager probably going through puberty and was most likely at a peak time where you're super harsh on yourself to begin with, and everyones bodies mature at a different rate. People were so incredibly harsh on her that i wonder if they ever once considered there might be a part of her that couldn't help gaining weight. i'm sure it somehwat had to do with diet as well and insecurity would have definitely been a major factor during rough era, but i - for example - didn't start gaining weight until 18. I was always super skinny and i still am (but like, as a girl you obviously gain curves and stuff) but i didn't start actually changing until 18. She could have easily been going through that phase around debut/a little after and you changing makes you feel self conscious by itself, yet alone having thousands tell you you aren't pretty/good enough. She caught my eye immediately because i thought she was so adorable. There are so many different versions of "beautiful" and i hate that there's such a standard you have to be for some to classify you as "beautiful". i always make it a point to express how proud and taken aback i am of umji in every video about gfriend because, as my ult bias, im so beyond happy that she's grown into this confident woman. I'm thankful people are starting to appreciate her, but it still hurts that a lot of people "changed where they stood with her" because she "looks prettier". I hope a lot of people now like her because how far she's come since debut, how confident she has become and how often she gets to showcase her talents and prove to everyone that she continues to improve in all aspects of performance. From being 17 and recieving some of the worst hate a teenager can get/handle, to being a happy, confident girl who no longer hides herself, she is so incredibly strong and i am always proud of her for learning and growing. I couldn't imagine being in her position.

Just because she doesn't have a lot of opportunity to show off her singing skill doesn't mean she is a bad singer and i hope the stylist never gives her bangs anymore. It doesn't seem to suit her. She looks more pretty without bangs.

I see a bunch of people talking about surgery, and that "maybe she got this done". What is your guys' problem? She debuted at 17 years old, she must've still had baby fat. Even if that wasn't the case, dont assume things about people you dont know. Plus, if she did get surgery, you should support her, there's nothing wrong with surgery.
