I just like seeing good players play goofy games. It’s not ‘farming content’ as much as old school melee goof arounds. I think that’s what I like most about GG Melee vids like this- it’s the stuff you do when you are tired of competing and just want to hang out with friends. I suppose that sounds parasocial but I feel like it’s a surrogate for what is lost when there are far fewer casual melee hangouts.

The wacky Melee videos are some of my favorites. I always think that some of the more silly games should be explored and played more! Coming from a competitive Pokemon background with lots of different tiers and game modes, I always enjoyed playing the less serious ones more than the typical tiering ladder gameplay. Love to see things like this get a little more exploration!
