You can’t always tell how hard a boxer punches until he hits the heavy bag. I had a lightweight boxer in my gym in the early 90s who would make a 90 lb bag buckle in the middle. The heavyweights would make it fly, but only that lightweight made it buckle.
@ttyninja2 жыл бұрын
What does that mean
@WarEnjoyer-gm5yh Жыл бұрын
@@ttyninja It means the lightweights punch was digging into the bag while the heavyweights punch was hitting the bag and swinging it, just because the bag swings or the punch was loud doesn't mean it was a hard shot. Some of the hardest punches are the ones that bend the bag. This is a shitty diagram to demonstrate... lightweight> / /

It's the difference between a pushing punch and a snapping punch. The snapping punch is the one that knocks people out.

I've worked out on traditional heavy bags kzbin.infoUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.

I always wonder where a KO Boxer's power comes from. For GGG, I'm betting it's his Popeye forearms 🚢🥬
@zakquinn54203 жыл бұрын
Dunno.. He's back is also pretty huge, and his punching technique is solid, twists his hips into most shots
@Barbarianz10003 жыл бұрын
its not his forearms or his back. He was just born with the right genetics for punching power. You can be build like a twig and hit as hard as ggg
@AguyR14013 жыл бұрын
@@Barbarianz1000 I insist that there's always something! As what determines KO power is a mere matter of physics. A person can't land hard if they slowly hobble as they walk, and are feebly built. A man's legs could be an indicator of his power, or the width of his shoulders. Perhaps he was blessed with rock-solid bones, or just plain speed? GGG has thrown his fair share of arm punches, as it were (that is, to say, hooks that don't necessarily have a ton of hip torque to reinforce their power), and he's still been able to rock his opponents with such shots. His forearms are denser than most of his competition! I suspect they are dangerous even if they were to be thrown without proper technique.
@zakquinn54203 жыл бұрын
@@AguyR1401 true sometimes his hooks hurt opponents without any hip torque..and sometimes he just flings his jab out without stepping almost like a casual punch and it snaps opponents head back. It must be something to do with his bone structure and how his joints snap so to speak (and in whatever synchronous order that may be) at the point of landing

just by the way certain boxers throw hooks, u can rlly tell they landing those shots w the first two knuckles. almost like the punch sounds a certain way when it lands w that accuracy. same thing w how kicking a bag w your shins and top of your feet sound different.
@johnsonramond15533 жыл бұрын
Well said. Especially with these bags that have a foam liner. You almost need professional tape wraps and not just those at home cloth wraps, because these Nazo bags demand those front 2 knuckles precision. I'm not a huge fan of them as a regular guy with an at-home gym, but if I was training pro I could see the major benefits.

GGG needs Kevin Rooney or teddy Atlas.. I think he would have been better off with Sanchez rather than banks... banks is trying to reinvent the wheel... all he needed to do with Sanchez is make some adjustments... it’s too late in the day , he’s 37.... he fights his own style... trying to change that now could be disastrous for him.. and ruin his legacy.. personally we all know that he beat Clenelo the first time, 2nd time it was a draw.. if there is any rematch I’d wanna see it’s Derevyanchenko... he will beat him but he needs to establish the jab again because he has the best jab in boxing and use those over hand shots that he used to use... for some reason he isn’t using them and they’re the ones that were knocking motherfuckers out!

He needs more to deal with canelo, he should train like floy mayweafher, anthony yarde, train the vision of a warrior, more speed, more defend and counter, canelo cant be knocked out, the only way to win is winning by decision, but scoring against canelo is very hard, ggg drop too many score when he trade shots with canelo, he must fix that
